She Knew He'd Do Well
She wished it was ending on a good note. Her long career as the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts was coming to a close, and after so many years of teaching young minds, she wished she could have finished with a smile and a wave and a whole fifty years of happy memories.
Instead, she was leaving at one of the lowest points of Hogwarts History. The Chamber of Secrets, the Heir Of Slytherin, the Petrified Students, and poor Myrtle.
She had been surprised, and not in a good way, to hear that young Rubeus Hagrid was to blame for the horrible affair. Yes, she knew he enjoyed rather dangerous magical creatures, but she would never had expected that sweet young boy to be behind such a terrible thing.
She, along with the rest of the staff and students were very grateful to Tom Riddle. Such a charming and unassuming boy, he had always been one of her favourite students. She knew he would do well in life, and she looked forward very much to finding out what he did in the future.
As she turned to gaze at the stone turrets of the aged castle one final time, she sighed. She would miss the place she had called home for fifty years, but she was looking forward to seeing what came next.
