I don't own anything you recognize. This is my first one-shot but if you hate it, I want to know. Please review.

She watched him from the shadows, a sad smile forming itself on her lips. He was just sitting on a bench in the empty yard behind the building, dressed all in black. He was drinking. She wasn't worried because she knew he'd never get drunk, even at the saddest and the darkest times. He wasn't like that. She decided that since no one else was around, it was safe to come out. She walked up to him and he looked up, his eyes void of emotions.

She sat down and starred strait ahead, no words were necessary. The moon shone brightly through the clouds. Even though it was the only source of lighting outside, she still managed to see his tears. It was the first time she had ever seen him cry. She didn't know anything else to do but to put her arms around him and try to comfort him that way.

They sat there for a while, him in her arms and her comforting him, until his tears finally stopped. He looked up at her again, strait in her eyes only to see sadness and love. He managed a weak smile which she mirrored. He then looked at her fully and thanked God that she was still alive and that she could finally be his. The world will finally be a better place, he thought, even though the sacrifice was great. The world will no longer be affected by Great Evil but by great sadness and mourning for their lost ones.

She looked him in the eyes only to wonder what he was thinking that very moment. She saw him smile slightly which made her smile too. She couldn't help but think about her friends that had passed away and seeing her parents dieing in the hands of Evil.

He noticed she was near to tears and did exactly what she had done not a moment before. He put his arms around her and let her cry on his shoulder. He knew whom these tears were for and also that she had not shed any since the battle. She had not yet mourned for her friends and family.

You could also say that he had not mourned yet but he had little to mourn about. His father had passed away in his hands and he felt no remorse whatsoever. His mother was still in hiding, mourning most likely. He had no other siblings and only a few true friends. Not of them had passed away but all felt the sadness.

During that battle no one was safe, everyone fought for what they believed in as well as for their lives. The Greatest Evil had by killed by a boy, no, by a man full of revenge for all the people he had lost in the hands of that monster.

Everyone thought that he would end up fighting for the Great Evil, he thought bitterly, and many were surprised to learn that he had killed his own father. They then understood that he was most definitely protecting the Greater good.

No one had understood better than her. She had seen this action on the battlefield with her very eyes. She knew why he had done it and had seen how much anger he had harboured towards his father. This was the moment when she could finally fully understand him.

Her tears stopped and she looked up only to see his angelic face looking down at her. She couldn't help but smile slightly at this man for whom she felt the most love she had ever felt before.

In one simple motion, his lips touched hers for the first time in months. The kiss was small yet full of emotion, of passion, of love. He could feel her need of him just like she could feel his. This long and passionate kiss ended with a small, light peck on the lips. He then stood up and took her hands in his, pulling her up. She looked him strait in the eyes and pronounced her first words that evening.

"It's over. It's finally over." He smiled slightly and swooped down for another kiss before saying.

"Yes, it is."
