Sam slipped from Barricade's hand to the ground, unable to release more than a grunt. He was dazed, in pain and the world needed to stop spinning if he was to get his bearings. Self preservation was screaming at him to move and run, but his body wasn't about to comply. Barricade looked briefly at the prone human, knowing that it would take no more than a footstep to finally end his life, but the smoking barrel at optic level was enough to keep him still. He should knock it aside and finish off the fleshling as per Megatron's orders. Surely a blast in the aft would be well worth it if he managed to escape with the mission succeeded. He should have crushed the fleshling in his hand when he had the chance, but something stayed his hand. It wasn't the cannon as most would assume, although that played a nice part in it, but rather the mech himself.
Sunstreaker, keeping the cannon aimed at Barricade's head, carefully scooped up Sam and did a quick scan. The boy merely moaned when moved, but nothing else. Sunstreaker's optics seemed to glow brighter than before and his cannon whirred dangerously. Barricade took a step back this time, recognizing the potential danger. Yes, it was the mech that caused him to release the human. There was something unstable about Sunstreaker and Barricade knew he just pushed a wrong button. Slag it. He transformed and tore off down the road, blasts following after with a couple managing to make contact. Barricade made a file for future reference to send some poor flunky Decepticon after Witwicky next time, he wasn't going to risk his aft again. Bumblebee, Ratchet, hell even Ironhide he could handle. Sunstreaker was unpredictable and ruthless, he wasn't about to face a mech with a twisted processor. Thanks to the encounter he had new dents for Hook to pound out. At least his opponent hadn't gotten away unscathed either. Thankfully the mech didn't find it worth it to follow, he had an injured human to worry about.
Sam looked up blearily at Sunstreaker, tried to figure out which way was up, gave up and closed his eyes. He was too disoriented to ask how Sunstreaker knew he was in trouble, much less where to find him. He managed to mumble a thank you before giving into his body's desire to sleep. Sunstreaker started the process of transforming and getting Sam somewhere he could be helped. He went to work looking up a 'human healer' and was rewarded with methods that even a Decepticon would find cruel. He quickly changed his rout. He wasn't about to let them cut open his little human to reveal his inner workings, it wasn't going to happen. Ratchet was far preferred to those 'doctors' in his opinion.
