He sat in the room, in complete darkness.  The moon was gone, hidden behind the angry red storm clouds.  He stared into space, tears rolling down his expressionless face.  Slowly, he reached up and felt one of the salty drops.  It glistened in the dark and the brown haired teen gazed at it, small wonderment in his blue eyes.  His hand dropped away again slowly.  Another tear dripped off his face and landed, mingling with the blood that was already on the wooden floor.

A half sob escaped him as he fell forward on his knees slowly and cradled the cold body on the floor.  The corpse looked up at his former lover with empty amethyst eyes, his crimson tinted hair falling in clumpy damp waves.  An animalistic cry tore through Heero and he wept harshly, his tears disappearing into the once chestnut locks of hair.

He rocked back and forth slowly, crying to himself.  "Why, oh god, why Duo?" he wailed; silence answered him.  He pulled the longhaired boy closer to his face and buried his tears and sobs in the stiffening body.  His hands traced the empty face longingly and more tears escaped his dark eyes.  "Oh, God, Duo," he choked out softly.  "Duo..."

His small hands caressed the pale body's face, softly brushing away strands of the once golden brown hair.  Heero's face contorted into one of pure, raw pain, and he let out a heart-wrenching cry.  His hands trembled and he pulled the cold body into his lap, propping it up slightly.  The sobbing teen let his hands run down Duo's thin arms, and gently stroke the deep cuts on the violet-eyed teen's wrists.  "Duo…"

"I'm sorry Duo," came the soft apology.  It was drowned in tears and sniffles.  "I love you, Duo.  Why?  Why did I say those things?  I love you, Duo, I swear.  I didn't mean to say that I didn't.  I'm so sorry!"  The brown haired teen looked down at his dead lover.  A tear fell onto the pale flesh, and then rolled off.  "Duo!"

He sobbed even harder and buried his face in his hands.

"I wish we hadn't fought this morning," he whispered hoarsely.  "I wish I could take back what I said, Duo.  Please forgive me, Duo."  Another tear trailed down the tanned face.  "I love you so much, Duo," he sobbed through his hands.  He looked up from where he sat and stared at his gun on the dresser.  His destiny.  His savior.

Heero's tears continued to fall, even as he lifted the American's body from off the floor.  He carried the longhaired teen to the bed they had once shared and laid him down gently.  The blue-eyed teen reached out slowly and gently closed his lover's blank eyes, then placed a small kiss on the cold forehead.

A loud bang followed by a muffled thud, came was heard from the room.

Heero Yuy died with a smile on his face and a gun in hand.

A small note was left on the table:

I hope the carpets don't

Stain.
