The orphanage was more than grim and Dean looked around with an uneasy look on his face. Going to places like this reminded him that he and Sammy could have ended up here. Castiel looked on with his bright eyes, Sam frowning beside him.

The twins before them, no older than six were in tears, holding onto each other for dear life. Sam looked like he was in pain and sighed, heading off to talk to the manager while Dean and Castiel stuck with the children to get information out of them. If they would stop crying.

Dean crouched down and opened his mouth to say something, but he found himself unable to think of anything to say to the two crying boys. Before he knew what was going on, Castiel had swept past Dean to rest a hand on each of their shoulders, coming down to their level and looking from one to the other.

"There is no need to cry, you should not shed a tear. Your mother and father are sure to be happy in heaven. They were good people. Now tell me, what did you see?" Castiel said in his deep, soothing voice.

Dean got to his feet and just watched as Castiel talked to the boys, slowly calming them down with soft words. They ended up with their arms around the angels neck and Castiel stood, arm around each of them, holding them up with ease. Dean looked staggered as he just walked off with them. Jogging to catch up with him, Dean grabbed hold of the back of his trench coat and pulled him back.

"Where the hell are you goin' with those two?" Dean asked in a low voice.

Castiel frowned and tilted his head a little bit, blue eyes narrowing as he considered Dean's question. He looked down at the floor and sighed.

"I know what it is like to be abandoned." he replied simply.

Dean felt a stab In his heart and he bit his lip a little bit, looking at the twins who had fallen asleep in Castiel's arms. Yeah, he knew that feeling too. Being left alone by his dad to look after little Sammy against creatures that could break down the door and kill them at any moment.

"Okay, lets get them out of here. Quickly though, before we get caught." Dean said, grabbing Castiel's wrist and hurrying him along the corridor.

Castiel just smiled as Dean turned away, disappearing in a flutter of his wings. Dean turned in shock, his eyes wide.

"I hate it when he does that."

Back at the crappy motel they were staying in that evening, Dean paced and Sam kept an eye on police channels for news on the missing children. When Castiel appeared, Dean pinned him against the wall, anger clear on his face.

"What the hell do you think you were doin' just disappearin' like that?" he yelled, a deep scowl on his face.

"Dean, calm yourself. I took them somewhere safe. They are with a new family now." Castiel said gently.

Dean huffed a few breaths and frowned, letting Castiel go and licking his lips. Sam frowned and looked between Dean and Castiel before stepping forward, a little frown on his face.

"Where are they?" Sam asked gently.

"Safe." Castiel smiled.
