-author's note- The prologue is very short – do not be disheartened; I will make things better and future chapters longer.
-author's note- I haven't written teen titans in months. Maybe longer. But I'm writing this now, during AP Global, because I kind of have to.
-dedication- for someone who will never read it.

Prologue
::illegaldaynightsnappingiguana::
The sky was blue.
Not that bright blue that you discuss when seeing a happy day; a pleasant day – it was the blue of the night. A deep, velvet, blue; covering the expanse over the world which she could see. Covering the day, covering fear – covering pain.
In the darkness, her own hair could be mistaken as this colour; slipping slowly into the abyss that was the night, making her one with the silence.
Covering her day, covering her fear – covering her pain.
Underneath her shoulders, her hips; her entire body – she could feel the cold concrete as it rubbed disaffectionately against her. She lay, looking into the sky, which was overcast with a few grey clouds, as the floor of the roof grew less and less uncomfortable. She grew used to the chilling air and the soft occasional patter of raindrops on her face.
Normally she would have given up the outdoors in frustration, but tonight it was nice. The night calmed her, strangely, as the silent pain began to flutter once again into her chest.
It was him, who caused her such pain, and it was him who forced her to stay.
Her eyes closed quietly, and she let the wind blow every last inhibition from her mind.
I love him.
Never before had a thought such as that even thought to enter her mind. But now, under the blanket of darkness and the secrecy of the deep, blue night, everything was clearing up for her.
The curtains were drawn and the façade of costumes racing across the stage was over.
She could see the stars.
