song: under your spell (amber benson)

pairing: lorcan/lucy

prompts: golden | weave | spring

His name was Lorcan, she knew.

He was Lysander's twin!

They were Scamanders - but no one really knew Lorcan, except for Luna and Rolf and Lorcan himself.

He existed, barely, in his brother's shadow. He never complained though - he didn't seem to mind being a nobody. He let his brother be the face of them, and he was just the little hunch-backed man (figuratively) in the background that did all the maintenance.

She was Lucy Weasley and she was cousin to James and Albus and Lily Potter and their father was Harry Potter, the BOY-WHO-LIVED! She was a supernova, a blazing-burning-shining supernova, whereas Lorcan was... a black dwarf. A cold, dejected black dwarf.

It was in front of a tiny mountain spring, during a hiking trip, she remembered.

"Will you go to Diagon with me, Lorc?" she had asked.

A stuttered, but pleased 'yes' came in reply.

All of a sudden, when they went back to Hogwarts, Lorcan joined his brother and Lucy as one of those blazing-burning-shining supernovas.

"It's because I'm dating Lucy," he told himself, "otherwise I'd never be so popular by myself. I'm just boring old Lorcan Scamander."

But that wasn't the complete truth - because Lorcan himself was a very intriguing boy, who could (should and would) be a blazing-burning-shining supernova by himself. He just didn't believe it.

He'd always been like his mother - believing in strange creatures like Nargles.

But when he dated Lucy, other people started pseudo-believing in Nargles as well. But only Lucy truly took the time to believe that there were Nargles, and for that he loved her.

He also loved to weave. Why, nobody knew. But Lucy shared his odd habit for weaving, and Lucy, lucylucylucy, was Lorcan's light. Whereas his world used to be dark, with only himself, it was now brightbrightbright and full of LUCYlucyLucy.

He depended on Lucy.

Lucy was his oxygen.

Without it, he would die.

Without her, he would perish.

A/N: Yeah, so this was for blue's 'Song of the Day Challenge for Points' on the NextGen Fanatics forum. I'd never heard of this song before, but I simply adore LorcanLucy, and yeah. I just had to try it. Hopefully it's not that bad, eh? ^^
