Disclaimer: I love this show even though I barely discovered it! I love it, love it, love it! Okay, so this takes place during the Jaynetown episode. When Kaylee shoos the Captain away and til she wakes up lying on Simon. Enjoy!

"I think you're pretty!" Simon slurred, stroking her cheek. Kaylee flushed happily, staring deep into his gray eyes.

"Hey guys, we got to go," Mal said, dropping into between to two.

"Aw Cap, things were going so well," she said, emphasizing the word, well. He looked confused for a moment.

"Very well," she said through gritted teeth.

"Oh!" he grinned, patting her shoulder. "Well, you guys stay here. Keep an eye on our hero." He gestured toward Jayne, who swooned and kissed a random girl at the bar. Kaylee grinned and turned back to Simon. He grinned in return. They sat for a few moments in silence, just staring into each other's eyes.

"You are so beautiful," he whispered, drawing his thumb across her chin. Kaylee giggled, blushing heavily. His alcohol clouded eyes cleared up for a moment as he looked around.

"Where's River?" he gasped, beginning to rise form his chair.

"Simon—"

"Oh gosh, she could be hurt or—" Kaylee cut him off, pressing her mouth to his. His eyes widened and he grinned against her lips. They melted together on the couch. He gingerly placed his hand on her cheek, as if the slightest wind would blow her away.

"Now see?" she joked, "That wasn't so bad." She grinned at him. He smiled, keeping his hand on her cheek. Slowly, Kaylee drifted into his chair until they were crammed together, with her legs over his lap and her head rest on his chest.

"I dunno Kaylee…" he said hesitantly. She sighed, pushing herself up and looking down at Simon.

"Look," she said, pushing a finger into his chest, "I really like you and I've been trying to get your attention. Please, just let me have this night." He sighed, slinking down until he was lying on the chair with Kaylee straddling his hips. She grinned, leaning down to kiss him again. The kiss was sweet and soft, as if they were experiencing their first kiss ever. They broke apart reluctantly, breathing deeply.

"Way to go Doc!" Jayne crowed from the bar, hanging on the shoulder of a different woman from before. Simon blushed, leaning up to kiss her again. Her hands traveled over his chest, surprised to find it so well muscled. He moaned, deepening the kiss, holding her thighs against his sides.

He reached up, taking the zipper of her jumper and pulled it down, almost tentatively. She aided Simon by shrugging off the sleeves and revealing her brown tank. His fingers spread like wings across her back, pressing her chest into his. She giggled and broke off their kiss, earning a faint pout from Simon.

"Kaylee," he begged, running his fingers through her hair.

"We just can't get too carried away," she whispered, kissing his nose. He nodded and turned his head away. She took that opportunity to start kissing his neck, finding his pulse and kissed it repeatedly. He groaned in delight, running his hands over her.

"Kaylee," he gasped, pushing her up a little. She frowned.

"What's wrong?" Simon winced at her hurt tone of voice.

"I'm sorry but I can't do this. If we keep going, I don't know what'll happen," he whispered, kissing her gingerly on the lips. She nodded and lay down on his chest. He kissed her hair, stroking it lovingly. They fell asleep on top of one another, smiling.

Mal strode down the stairs, looking around warily. Jayne was nowhere to be found and their little, Jayne Day celebration was going to start soon. He walked up to where he'd last left Kaylee and Simon. He stared with wide eyes as he saw them.

"Hello," Kaylee grinned, lifting herself off Simon. He woke as soon as her weight was lifted.

"Had a good night?"
