A Little Bit Of Sunshine
A very
short drabble
BTW: I do not own Naruto.
"Hinata?"
"Hmm?"
"Just what did Naruto ever do that gave you your first inkling that he loved you?"
She smiled.
It
was a cloudy day. Her beloved blond boy sloppily devoured his fifth
serving of Ichiraku ramen. She did not mind. Instead she primly and
quietly ate her own meal.
She'd heard on good authority (all right, perhaps Rock Lee was not exactly what one would call good authority– but to whom could she ask for advice? Neji? That made her laugh) that Naruto liked his girls slightly plump.
That this had probably meant Haruno Sakura didn't really register in her head nor matter to her heart. For to have Naruto invite her over for lunch, at however cheap and familiar a place as Ichiraku (no offense to the good proprietors of this excellent place), just the two of them together…
Not much, really, but it was Hinata's first date, after all.
Naruto let out a burp and a very satisfied sigh. "That was good!"
"Yes." Despite having eaten only a few forkfuls, his opinion made it for her. "It was."
"A good meal, Sasuke on our side again, no more Orochimaru and Akatsuki, everyone happy…"
But she was happy, was she not? She was here with the boy she loved. Nothing else but this moment mattered.
"You know what would make this day perfect, Hinata-chan?"
Absently she asked "What is it, Naruto-kun?"
He grinned at her.
"A little bit of sunshine."
"Ever
since," Hinata smiled, "I knew he was mine."

Note:
For people unfamiliar with the Japanese language, the name Hinata
means "sunshine" in English.
