Friends: don't own 'em – gotta love 'em...

"Hey" an overeager, 18 year old Monica Gellar said.

It was her first time at a college party and she was a little anxious. Of course she had

brought her good friend Rachel Green with her, but that only added to the excitement...

and pressure. Rachel could always get a guy's attention and she was always making

Monica feel inferior. Rachel had been trying to get her to talk to a guy all night. She

finally saw her brother, Ross' college roommate and decided to talk to him. The music at

the party was loud so she repeated herself.

"Hey!" she called.

"Hey" replied the uninterested college student.

"So... how's college life?"

"Good."

"I'm sorry you got stuck living with my brother."

Chandler stared at her for a minute.

"Oh, you must be Ross' sister...um."

"Monica."

"Right."

"Yeah, so..."

"Oh, I'm sorry, will you excuse me, I – uh, I forgot I have to call someone."

"Oh, yeah, sure." Her heart sank as he walked away and the crowd closed in around her. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------

10 years later...

"You know... I always thought of you as my brother's friend. N-nothing more. I'm

sorry."

"Does this mean?"

"I don't love you, Chandler." She said beginning to cry.

"But... I thought."

"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry."

Silence.

"I'm sorry." She said again running out of her own apartment.
