The Great Hall was lively; it was the Leaving Feast and students were looking forward to their summer holiday. Albus Dumbledore however was somewhat apprehensive about letting his students go: Voldemort had been quiet for the past month, and he was afraid that he was planning something. He glanced over at his spy, who hadn't been able to tell him anything about this mysterious silence, having not been summoned for weeks.
Suddenly the doors to the Great Hall flew open, and silence descended on the hall as a tall man with long, flowing robes strode into the room.
"Tom?" Albus asked incredulously, rising to his feet. Walking through the Great Hall without a care in the world was Tom Riddle, looking more human than before and apparently unhindered by the heavy wards protecting Hogwarts.
"Severus," Voldemort said, ignoring everyone else as his red eyes locked on the wide black ones of his Potions Master.
"My Lord," Snape responded, rooted to his seat as the black-haired man approached him.
"I am tired of this, Severus," Riddle said, stopping in front of Snape.
"Of what, my Lord?" the Potions Master inquired carefully when the man didn't continue.
Waving his hand vaguely at the hall, the Dark Lord replied, "Of this. The Order. The followers. The war."
Severus' eyes widened, and Riddle made a sound that from a lesser human could be called a snort. "I'm bored, Severus."
"You mean..."
"Yes."
With a cry of triumph, the Potions professor shot out of his seat, took three long strides to round the table and step up to his Master - and then grabbed him in a passionate kiss that was eagerly returned. Pulling apart briefly, Snape eyed the pale face and queried, "You really mean it?" At the other man's nod he smirked and said, "Otherwise this stunt of yours really would have blown my cover, you know."
Riddle grinned mischievously, "But you were such a good double spy, love," and Snape raised an eyebrow, still smirking.
"It helped knowing that I was the only follower you wouldn't kill if displeased," he admitted, and Riddle... pouted?
"I had to kill Bellatrix," he said, and Snape snorted.
"Good. Crazy stalker woman..."
"Yes, but she was so good with knives..."
"Oh please, she was insane. Good riddance."
"Severus, you're terrible."
"Mmmmh, and all yours," Snape whispered before leaning in for another kiss, bearing down on the slightly shorter male.
"Are you done being a Dark Lord, then?" he asked upon ending the kiss, and Riddle sighed.
"Yes, I suppose. Maybe I'll try being a Light Lord next; it might be interesting..."
Snape snorted. "You really think that you can put up with the sheep without liberal use of Crucios?" Riddle scowled at him.
"I can do anything I want," he replied haughtily, and Snape smirked.
"I'm sure," he answered drily, causing the former Dark Lord to roll his eyes at him.
"Come on," he said, grabbing Snape's arm and moving towards the exit. "I have a tropical island we can spend some months on, and we haven't shagged in weeks..."
"Not my fault," Snape reminded him drily, "as it was you who insisted that I stay at Hogwarts..."
"Don't point out my faults, Severus; it's unbecoming of you."
With that, the former Dark Lord and his right-hand man strode out of the Great Hall, single-handedly ending the war while a dumbfounded Light Lord and Boy-Who-Lived looked on.
