It seemed like forever until they broke from the kiss, staring into each other's eyes.

"This is real," Aang said, "you do feel that way about me."

Katara smiled, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear.

"I think I always have," she said. "Aang, ever since we first met I knew you were something special, believed you would save the world. And now...you've not only done that, but you helped restore a whole country's honor." She leaned her forehead against his. "You're amazing, and meeting you was the best thing that could ever happen to me."

Aang's heart swelled with joy as he swept her into his arms.

"Katara, I love you so much." He remembered a daydream from several months ago, he'd had her in his arms like this, looking into her eyes... "You're my forever girl."

He'd actually said it. Would she laugh, would she think he was crazy, or...no, she was blushing, smiling the way she had moments ago.

"Forever girl. I kind of like how that sounds," she said, and kissed him again.
