Night In Your Arms

For one night, just one, he was allowed into the human world. And he chose to spend that time with his beloved, Chihiro. But she could not see her and he could only do the thing he has been doing for years, watch. But, it was more than enough for him, for this time he could actually hold her in his arms and just be with her.

He watched her expression and smiled sadly when she murmured his name in her sleep. Wrapping his arms around her, he took in her fruity scent and kissed her forehead, trying to enjoy the moment as much as he could while it lasted.

It had been four years since he had last saw his lovely Chihiro.

His green hair tickled her chin causing her to shift her uncomfortable position and end up snuggling into his chest.

He smiled at how her small frame fit perfectly into his body. He hugged her tight and whispered sweet words into her ear. Soon her mumblings stopped and a smile was etched upon her features and she cuddled with him.

He gently kissed her, not on the cheek or the forehead but rather on the lips. The kiss was short and sweet, leaving a tingling feeling in his heart.

He pulled away reluctantly when he noticed her stirring. The sun was already starting to peak through the curtains and he sighed. He was granted one night with her, one short night. He yearned for more but that was impossible.

So, instead of dwelling on the hopeless he decided to admire the angel in front of him.

Her now long and luscious chocolate brown hair spread out behind her head in wavy locks, her caramel eyes were closed and rose pink lips were parted slightly.

Haku gently sat up and rested Chihiro's head on his lap, stroking her silky hair. She was still small for a fourteen year old but she was definitely better than how she was when she first came to the bath house.

He looked down towards her and sighed again, he was starting to fade back to the spirit world. The sunlight just began shine into her room and through his fading body, illuminating her peaceful face.

For the last time him planted a kiss on her lips, but this time she responded to him.

But just as her eyes fluttered open, he was gone, leaving only a single shimmering white scale in his wake.
