Hello!
This is the same story as in the previous chapter, but I wrote this over two and a half years later. Partially to see how much I had improved, partly as a form of Fanfiction 'spring cleaning'. I intend on telling my friends about my Fanfiction-writing hobby, and so I must update and improve all of my stories. I am aware that the previous iteration had punctuation, grammar and spelling issues, but I shall not fix that as that is what I wrote on the 12th of October, 2014.

After a long and arduous fight, a fight that had drained every being of strength, it was over. The Steelswarms were nowhere to be seen. One lone figure, triangular in shape, slowly rose from the rubble. Amber hues, emitted by the eyes of the mechanical being, accentuated the shapes that scattered the floor. System scans revealed no trace of the Steelswarm. The gentle humming and whirring of mechanised circuits filled the air, dispelling the daunting silence that lingered and loitered like a wicked presence. The angelic machine, designated as Vylon Tetra, continued its scans. The ground was littered with the bodies of the fallen. A being of fire. An aquatic monstrosity. An eagle of vibrant emerald. That is what the bodies looked like in life, before being blanketed by the comforting embrace of dust and rubble. They were to never be seen that way again. Memory banks updated. Casualty count: fifteen known deaths, twenty-two yet to be located. A second presence rustled its way out of the infrastructure-formed crypt. This being was spherical with two small black limbs protruding from the base, the form being bathed in sapphire lights of its own making. Twenty-one yet to be located. Both beings simultaneously accessed the shared minds of their fellow Vylons. The Vylons functioned on a hive mind created by the Constellars, believing in one goal. One idea. One mind.

Their shared memories, now in an uncomfortably quiet state after the war they had been involved in mere hours ago, showed images from every member. Vylon Tesseract; forcefully disconnected from Vylon Vanguard after the latter was compromised beyond repair. Vylon Soldier had synchronised with Vylon Cube and Vylon Stella, forming their last resort, Vylon Omega. Another brief scan revealed the damaged form of the divine mechanical being among the rubble. Charcoal wings blended in with the darkness of the unforgiving night. Only the amber and cerulean lights of the two remaining machines lit the view. The majestic crest that proudly adorned the head of their creation was tarnished. No violet light was emitted from the eyes of Vylon Omega. Reaching forward with the miniscule digits of the spherical machine, the Vylon hive mind reached deep into Vylon Omega and salvaged its memories. It showed the angelic being battling a beetle-like behemoth clad in armour of deepest midnight, only the gold etchings stopping their foe from fading into the darkness of the battleground. Steelswarm Hercules. Hercules was weary, Omega was low on energy. There would only be enough energy for one last attack. Focusing every ounce of power into the crest, feeling the surges flow through its body and condense in front of Vylon Omega, it readied the attack. Just as the violet beam fired, Hercules delivered an attack of his own, causing a blinding explosion to rock the very earth they stood on.

The Vylons felt something else in them. Something not entrusted to them by the Constellars. A foreign entity. And it was not a just entity. Gazing upon the aftermath of the battle, the two Vylons knew their battle was won. The Steelswarms were gone. Their presence was no longer required. Their creators had built them with the sole purpose of keeping the peace between the different tribes. And yet, their battle was not over. There would be more fighting. There would be more bloodshed. There was only one solution. In an instant, every Vylon had freed themselves from their tombs with newfound strength coursing through them, tainting every fibre of their circuitry. The spectrum of lights emanated by each Vylon were gone, replaced with a uniform, sinister violet. Their one mind was given a new perspective. A less forgiving perspective. With this new perspective, the Vylons acted. Their signals now fractured and nonsensical jargon, their message was broadcasted across the world. Despite the glitches, it was understood by all.

I may turn this into a full story, we'll see what happens. I'm rather satisfied with how this re-write turned out.
(Also, in case you are confused, read the letters in bold in the ending message. It's probably obvious but I wanted to be sure.)
It's fun to write a hive mind so I may do something like that in the future, and the Duel Terminal lore in general always intrigued me. In real life, I have a Vylon deck. It's old. It can't keep up with the meta. It's not as good as other Vylon decks but it is one of my favourite archetypes of all time. The artwork! The playing-style! The effects!
Just brilliant. Maybe we could get some Vylon link support...?

I live in hope.
