Hay, I hope everyone is having a great day. I just want everyone to know that this is my official first story. My other one I am not to happy with since it was in third person and that is really hard to do. Also, I accept nice critiques and ideas for the story as well.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything except my character and part of the plot. Everything else belongs to the master mind J.R.R Tolkien and Peter Jackson.
The Beginning
The sun to the west starts to set as I come across a small clearing with a stream that seems like the perfect place to make camp and rest for awhile after killing of a pack of orcs. I jump down from my horse Rivorn and tie him to a tree loosely and start to set up camp and start a fire to cook the few vegetables and meat I have and put them in a stew. As my supper cooks I take out my flute to play a song. When I finish the song a her some rustling among the trees at the edge of the clearing and I go to grab my bow when I hear a voice call out.
"Ah, you are not an easy person to find Náriel. Though I do understand why that is. It is good to see you again my dear." Gandalf says as he walks into the clearing and I put my bow down after seeing who it is.
"Gandalf, it has been a while since we have seen each other. The last time was on an adventure that you like to call these suicide mission, that almost got me killed." I sigh at that last adventure and motion for him to come sit by the fire. "Even though it's nice to see you again, you never seek out a person for no reason or just to have a nice talk. Why are you here Gandalf?" I ask in a serious tone.
He acts shocked that I would imply such a thing. "Can't a friend seek out another for some company. I will tell you that I am nothing and just wish to be in your company."
I can tell that he is lying by the way he is acting like there is nothing going on. "You are not fooling anyone with your theatrics. I know you Gandalf, there is always something going on with you. Please, tell why you need me. I hope it is not another suicide mission." I check on the stew to see i it is ready yet and I see that it is and offer him some before getting myself some.
As I start to eat he gives up and explains to me why he is here. "Náriel, I have come in hope that you will accept to join me and a company of thirteen in hopes to reclaim a lost home. I believe that you could be a great addition and that it will be good for you. To get your mind off this vengeful path you are going down."
"Gandalf, I really don't think I'll go on this adventure. I am no longer the girl who would jump at the chance to go on one. I've outgrown them, I'm sorry." I say as I turn towards the stream to wash out my bowl. It was quiet for a while so I thought he has left then he tells me one last thing. So, I turn to look at him.
"Nariel, I don't understand why you are fighting this you used to love going on adventures. I hope you change your mind and join us on this quest." He says quietly and starts to turn to leave. Then he turns back to tell where the meeting is being held. After that he finally leaves and I sit there thinking about his offer.
