Narcissa sat in her dining room. Words from a Muggle song ran through her mind. She had heard them years before, while walking on the crowded streets of Muggle London, looking desperately for a Muggle pregnancy test. The moments the lyrics had entered her mind she had connected them with Lucius. And now that her husband was locked up in Azkaban they came pouring into her mind.

Snow can wait, I forgot my mittens

Wipe my nose, get my new boots on.

I get a little warm in my heart when I think of winter.

I put my hand in my father's glove.

Well it wasn't winter now but since that fateful night at the Ministry the Manor had become so cold and lifeless. It had fallen asleep, waiting for his master to come back again. Narcissa didn't kwon if he ever would.

I run off where the drifts get deeper

Sleeping beauty trips me with a frown

I hear a voice:" you must learn to stand up for yourself

Cause I can't always be around"

"I know Lucius" she whispered to herself "But I miss you."

She remembered the day they had gotten married. Her mother had died a few weeks before. Her sudden disappearance had thrown Mr Black into deepest despair. The morning his last daughter had left the house he was too drunk to recognize her.Lucius had taken care of everything. He had shown up at her front door in the morning. He had escorted her to the place where their marriage was being held. Despite his own mother's protests he had opted for a private ceremony with few, chosen guests.

He says: " when you gonna make up your mind?

When you gonna love you as much as I do?

When you gonna make up your mind?

Cause things are gonna change so fast."

All the white horses are still in bed

I tell you that I'll always want you near.

You say that things change, my dear.

No matter what the rumors said. Her husband had always been there for her. He had always been able to make her feel beautiful. Even during her pregnancy, when she had been swollen and round as a gigantic bubblegum, she had felt like the most beautiful lady in the wizarding world. The Manor had been full of flowers and gifts that Lucius used to hide everywhere for her to find them.

Boys get discovered as winter melts

Flowers competing for the sun….

Narcissa smiled softly as she remember their first days as parents. Even if he pretended to be perfectly calm and prepared to the task nature had set them to, Lucius had been so worried that he kept knocking things over whenever he moved through a room. She remembered the night Draco had been so ill that Healers couldn't tell what was wrong with him. She had found Lucius in his study, crying like a small child. She had tried to comfort him but he had gently pushed her away: "You and Draco are more important than I am. Go, look after him"

Mirror mirror where's the crystal palace?

But I only can see myself...

It wasn't true. Lucius was the most important person in her life. She was lost without him

She felt lonely now, lonely and scared. As wondered through the house she felt hatred rising inside her. She hated everybody:Voldemort,Potter,Dumbledore, the Ministry of Magic. Everybody who had taken Lucius away from her.

"Mother!"

Draco had appeared behind her. She looked at him. The same loneliness and fright she was feeling. Lucius words came to her mind :" You and Draco are more important than I am".

She did not believe him but she wanted him to be happy. So listening once again to her husband's words she took Draco into her arms. As she hugged him words from the Muggle song were still echoing trough her mind

...You say I wanted you to be proud

I always wanted that myself

...You say that things change my dear

...Never change
