TWO BIRDS AND A STAR - prologue

Raven looked around the Tower's living room from where she stood in the kitchen. It had a been a slow day and Cyborg and Beastboy were playing video games...again. She sighed and sipped her steaming herbal tea. Wincing slightly as it burned her tongue. Most people hated the taste but Raven forced herself to drink it before and now she had become accustomed to it's bitterness. A hardcover book was opened on the counter beside her. Raven may have looked like she was concentrating on the story, but her mind was elsewhere.

Robin and Starfire had disappeared about 15 minutes ago. Nobody had any idea where they went, but wherever it was, they were probably together. Maybe it had something to do with her gradual growing feelings toward the team leader that she was wondering, and becoming a bit worried. But she shoved the thoughts away, annoyed.

He would never like me. Raven thought, trying to convince herself and remove any false hope as she stood up and walked away. She smirked as the door slid shut, blocking out the annoying sounds of the video game.

Without even thinking, Raven realized with a start that she was standing in front of Robin's door. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. After a minute when he never answered, she decided to just go in. She could sense Robin in there, but there was another presence that she overlooked.

A black oval appeared in the wall by Robin's door and Raven stepped through, frowning at his bedroom floor. It was covered with clothes, pizza boxes and newspapers. She wasn't even sure if there was a floor. She stepped further into the room and gasped at what she saw. Against the wall opposite to her was Robin's bed, on top of his bed was the Boy Wonder himself...on top of him was Starfire.

Raven quickly teleported out. Covering her mouth as loud gasps mixed with heartbroken sobs escaped from her. She sank down on her room floor, sobs shaking her small body.

Robin and Starfire had never noticed her there, they were too...busy. And even if they had, Robin would never have cared.

Review. Hope you like this mindless story! LOL. No flamers please.
