It was dark…

Alone in the darkness, a moonlit figure raised its head. It let out a howling cry, which echoed through the mountains, jerking a certain blonde-haired chosen from her rest. Colette didn't really sleep, but she still lay in bed to let her muscles rest anyway. The cold morning air of Hima made her shiver. Getting up slowly, she walked outside onto her room's deck to prepare for her day.

Colette smiled, watching the sun rise. Ever since she had stopped sleeping, she spent every dawn this way. Colette felt her spirits rise with the sun, smiling wider as it crept ever further in the sky. She got up, stretching in the sun's warm light. She looked up towards the top of the mountain.

"Today will be another big day…" she thought silently. Then suddenly, the true realization of just how big this day would be struck her. A cloud eclipsed the sun in the same instant. She looked over at the sudden change of light. She would never see the sun rise again…

Tears rolled down her face as she silently cried. "Colette?" sounded a questioning voice.

"Oh no, it's Lloyd!" Colette thought frantically. "He can't see me like this!" she hurriedly wiped the tears from her eyes. Forcing a smile onto her lips, she turned to face Lloyd.

He walked out onto the deck, a frown on his face. "You were crying. What's up?"

Colette only smiled wider, a questioning look on her face.

Lloyd increased his frown to match her smile. "Don't deny it, I saw you," he said roughly. Softening his tone slightly, he brandished a notepad, saying, "Do you want to tell me what's wrong? You can write…" he trailed off, noticing that Colette was crying again. "Oh Colette," he said softly, "I'm sorry. I only want to help…"

Colette moved toward him, and hugged him tightly. He looked shocked for a moment, but it only lasted a moment, as he returned the hug.

The clouds moved off the sun. It looked like it would be a bright day after all.
