Disclaimer: I don't own Pirates of the Caribbean...darn it.

I started writing this fic years ago, and have decided to give it another hack. I am going to re-write the couple chapters I have up and then hopefully see where my muse takes me. So far I only have this chapter (Chapter 1) re-written. I was only a teenager when I first posted this, and now a decade later I would like to think I have a better handle on how to get this story out. Fingers Crossed. Keep in mind the M rating.

Hello, my name is Sabrina Jackson. In the last two years I have had adventure after adventure and now I wish to tell everyone about all of them. Or at least my first, and most memorable. I am sure this story will pass on as fiction, but I don't mind. I just need to tell people about it.

Two years ago, (a couple days after my 16th b-day specifically) I was walking home after school, kicking rocks and bored as hell, another day in the grey life I called my own. Not even the calm Auguest day could cheer me up. Back in those days I was just waiting it seemed like, waiting to get out. I was totally convinced that my life was boring and pointless. I did the same un-noteworthy routine today, the same forgettable actions, and all I wanted was to do something...ANYTHING!!!!! I was looking for an adventure, and on this day, my wish finally came true...in spades.

So as I was saying, I was walking home and as I was leaving my favorite cafe, a much needed iced white mocha in hand (the only thing I ever seemed to look forward to anymore), I was pulled into the ally next door. At first I was terrified, because as a female who grew up and was living in a city, we are told to do whatever we can to avoid this very situation (my mother's favorite advice, never wear skirts after dark...eye roll), we grow up bathed in the stories of what happens if you find yourself in such a situation.

But alas, as I finally slowed my heart rate down enough to actually look around, all I saw was this little old man...creepy. Relieved, I noticed he was about 5 ft (to my 5'9) and looked to be about 100. I figured rape was off the table, 'Thank god', but I didn't think my wallet was coming home with me. Neither was the sunshine of my day in a cup apparently, the asshole had caused me to drop my beloved in momentary terror. I was so going to press charges as soon as I could get away. 'Never mind if he planned on stealing from me, the bastard murdered my coffee, not cool.' Anyway, his wrinkles had wrinkles and I could barely see his eyes through all of them even though it was still daylight. Just then he took my hand and dropped something into it.

"Take this necklace and use it carefully. Your soul cries for freedom and this will give it to you. It will let you live in places and times other than in the here and now. Use it carefully and NEVER let anyone know of it."

He looked me straight in the eye and I had no idea what to say...I mean what in the hell do you say to something like that? 'Wait here sir, I do believe you are in desperate need of some White Coats and a padded room. I'll be back in jiffy.' So I tried to give the necklace back.

"No, you must have it. My time with it is up and I must give it to a new person before they find me. They are not worthy. It must be your destiny, I can see no other reason why I was able to come cross you so fast. When you learn what you need from it then you must give it to another person and so on. It works differently for different people so figure out how to use it and learn the meaning of the word "Freedom". But, beware of the coven known as 'The Jewelers' or if someone mentions that they came from the 'Jewelry box'. In every world and in every time you will find them. It is their life's mission to possess this. They are ruthless, cunning, and under NO circumstances should you ever let them achieve this goal. No matter the cost, even if you must give your life." My heart rate was speeding back up and by the end of his little speech, I am sure he had to of heard it. Before I could really process his words, let alone pose a question, he turned an ran. For an old guy, hell for a young guy, the lil son of a bitch was fast, and gone too quickly.

I stood there for a couple seconds looking at the necklace. It had a silver chain and on the chain was an emerald green, heart shaped stone. It was very pretty and most likely expensive.

"WAIT...YOU CAN'T REALLY JUST GIVE THIS TO ME CAN YOU?" I yelled after him. People don't just give you fancy jewelry and tell you to die protecting it every day, ya know?

"Just remember to use it well" The old man's voice floated towards me, as if he were still standing there, yet he had already disappeared from view. Que creepy music.

So I took it and went home on cloud, deep in thought. The goosebumps wouldn't stop rolling up and down my arms. I didn't know what to think about all this. I mean some creepy old guy had come up to me and said a bunch of creepy stuff and handed me a creepy necklace...did I mention how creepy all this was yet?

When I got home I realized I was still holding the heart shaped pendant in my hand, proof that the entire encounter was real. It truly was breathtaking, and just to really test my sanity, when I stared deep into it...I swore I could almost see movement. Green swirls that almost seemed to come together a form a shape but shifting before anything recognizable came forward. I blinked and it was gone. I shook my head.

'Screw it', I thought, 'I couldn't let a beautiful piece like this go to waste could I? Of course not!! Mom would faint if I didn't appreciate a gift like this properly', eyeroll.

With that thought I put the chain around my neck and decided to put the whole thing out of my head. How do I do that you ask? Movies, Duh. My parents were still at work (suprise, suprise) and who knew when they would show their faces. Running their competing law firms and trying to out do each other had long since proven to be more important than making sure I ate dinner or did my homework. I had been virtually on my own since I was 11, when I was told I had proven myself responsible enough to be home alone so my mom could start her own firm. I missed the days we used pick out books for the other to read if it was a 'reading curled up on the couch' night, or take turns picking out that nights flick for us to enjoy. The days when she didn't harp on me for making sure I always make a good impression whenever one of her collegues catches a glimpse of me. 'Wear a skirt...no not THAT one, the blue one, keep your back straight, make-up wouldn't hurt...'on and on and on.

My Mom taught me movies would always be an escape for me, back in the day that is. Acually movies and books both. I love Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, The DarkHunter series, The House of Night, and Princess Diaries. Those are just SOME of my favorite books and movies. They help me to escape real life, I mean the characters are free to do so many things. Things I could only dream of doing. Finding real love, having adventures, solving mysteries, living out my wildest dreams ect. Life was never boring or grey for them.

I went up to my room and I looked at my movies, trying to decide what I wanted to get lost in tonight. Then my eyes settled on Pirates of the Caribbean...oh ya. I needed some Captain Jack Sparrow yummy goodness. 'He is sooooo FINE.' Sure Johnney Depp is a good looking guy, but dressed up in his piratey best? Consider my panties offically wet. Who doesn't love a bad boy after all? Not to belittle a certain Will Turner at all, he is quite yummy as well. He just calls to the inner romance novel lover in all of us. Don't mind my drool by the way.

So I popped it into the dvd player and moved to go back and lay on my bed, but I stopped half-way there. Something sparkled out of the corner of my eye in the mirror, when I turned I noticed it was just the green gem on my chest catching some light and reflecting it back.

'Definately cost a fortune', I couldnt help but giggle at my reflection. 'But damn it looks good on me'

With an eyeroll on my own short lived vanity, I sat back on my bed and watched as young Elizabeth sang into the fog. She sees the boy in the water and calls for help. "Will Turner", he says. "Its ok, I'm watching over you Will." She says back, then notices the necklace, it's a pirate medallan. "Your a..a pirate". After they take him below, she goes to look out over the water and I love the look on her face when she sees the Black Pearl in the distance. She then wakes up and knows it was just a dream. She then goes and looks at the medallan and remembers the day she and Will met. Just then her father walks in and gives her a dress to wear.

At this point in the movie I always wish I could live in the movie. To wear dresses like that (even if you can't breath). And just like always, I wished with all my heart I could be there. (How easily I forget the lack of hygiene and electricity in the 1700's.)

All a sudden I was surrounded by light. Greens, blues, purples, and oranges. Before I even realized I no longer felt my bed beneath me, I fell hard on my ass. Immediately I noticed I was outside, the sun blinded me and the humidity seemed sufficating. Once my eyes adjusted to the blinding sun, I got up and looked around. I seemed to be on a dock. I looked around and saw the vast waters as far as I could see, my hand came up to block the sun's reflection coming off of all the rolling blue waves around me. That's when I noticed the people, mostly men, around me. Something was off, but due to my overall shock at the present situation, I couldn't put my finger on it.

'What the fuck!?! What the hell is going on?!?', I curse like a sailor on the best of days (much to my mothers delight), and so far, this was most definitely NOT the best of days. 'Wait...their clothes...'.

Everything was dated, that's what I didn't immediately pick up on. Not to mention I noticed that anchored along the dock were WOODEN ships. My brain went dead at this realization, it had no answer for any of the things I was seeing. Then I saw him...

I closed my eyes, 'Breath Sabrina, just breath. This is impossible, there is not a snowball's chance in hell that what you think you saw is real. It's a mirage, ya that's it...a mirage. When you open your eyes, it will all be gone.'

But I could still see the brightness from behind my lids, and feel the humidity, a bead of sweat dripped down my back as proof, but I re-opened my eyes anyway. Yup, he was still there. 'It's official, I am crazy, because there is no way I am seeing Captain Jack Sparrow slowly coming towards to dock, his feet on a sinking mast.' But I swear I could almost hesr the click of his boots on weathered wood when he steps off.

I see the dock attendant stop him, but I couldn't hear what he says. Not that I need to, I know he asking for his name and the money to tie up his 'boat'. I took a couple steps forward.

"How about three shillings and we forget the name?"

"Welcome to Port Royal Mr. Smith".

I then realized it. I took a hold of the necklace and saw it was glowing but light was fading from it fast.

'The old man was right...this could be my freedom'

Wow this chapter is way longer than the original! I personally feel it is much better though, let me know what you think!

What's Next: Sabrina follows her favorite pirate around, helps save Elizabeth, and realizes that her sense of humor is not appreciated.
