Maiden- I know I'm supposed to be working on 'Fighting Dreamers' but this one-shot idea came to me while listening to 'Nothing' by Charice. Just so you know, this is an anti- SasuSaku. So I'm sorry if I offend any of you! I'm more SakuLee oriented ^^
Nothing
The nightly winds blew gently throughout the woods just outside Kohona. It was pitch dark except for the crescent moon shining brightly overhead. A pink headed kunoichi stood under a tall oak, clutching a piece of paper tightly in her fist. Emerald eyes scanned the words carefully one last time to make sure she'd made no mistake. And he hadn't. It was exactly midnight, she was alone, unarmed and under the seventh oak tree from the gates. Their was no signature on the letter, but Sakura felt a bad omen pass through her upon another glance to the paper. Another gust of wind blew, fluttering her rose locks when she felt a presence behind her.
She knew that chakra signature. She recognized the power behind it.
"Sauske." she whispered, her voice stolen by the breeze.
"Sakura. Good to see you." the dark figure said coolly. His voice void of any emotion. Sakura was terrified to turn and look at him. She knew the second she laid eyes on him all her feelings for him would come rushing back to her. She even expected the heartbreak to return. He'd cut her incredibly deep the day he left. Even more so when they'd met up again three years later. He'd wounded her, Sai, Naruto and Captain Yamato without even blinking. He would've killed them even quicker hadn't Orochimaru intervened. She was sure that she'd never really move on. He was her first love even if he didn't return the feelings. She genuinely loved him, he was a part of her, and Sakura thought nothing could change that.
He grasped her left shoulder and turned her to face him. The second emerald met onyx, Sakura felt relieved. She felt nothing for this man anymore. No butterflies in her stomach, no sweaty palms, no embarrasing Hinata stuttering, nothing.
"I never thought seeing you again would make me feel nothing." she said, glaring into his eyes. Onyx studied her face for a moment before looking almost defeated.
"I came to bring you back with me...but I see you've changed your mind."
"I'm not that same scared, weak little girl I was four years ago. I'm stronger both mentally and physically. Did you expect me to just fall into your arms? Or loose myself the second you said my name? To get a second chance? I hate to break it to ya, but I'm not interested in anything you have to offer me, Sasuke."
Without another word, she left him alone in the woods. She reached the door to her apartment a few minutes past 1am, feeling exceptionally proud of herself. She'd stood her ground with the one person she thought would always be like a bad scar marring her skin. But now, she realized he was nothing more than a vague memory.
