Kirby's Infection.
...
A clear beautiful sunny day has arrived in Dreamland. The birds are singing, the chipmunks are chattering, the citizens of the Dreamland are up and about ready to start their day. Except one person is not going to have a normal happy day, and who is it? Why, it's Kirby! What is it that would make his day terrible?
Kirby has woken up from his sleep, however he feels different and terrible. His pink skin is sickly pale, his head has been hurting, his throat his scratchy and sore, and his stomach is churning as if he's been punched many times by a gorilla. He groaned before he turned over on his bed and shut the curtains to block the sunlight. Yep, today won't be his day.
"Oh poy~," Kirby winced as by his sore throat, which makes his voice sounded dry and very difficult for him to speak. He started shivering while covering himself with his blankets before he felt his stomach churning. The pink child clutched it with his arm stubs.
"I don't understand, poyo." Kirby thought. "I was fine yesterday while I was at King Dedede's party, but now I'm sick! How could this have happen?"
Could it be something that Kirby ate? Or maybe he might be near someone who was already ill?
Just then, a knock was heard at the door. Kirby sits up from his bed while he sniffed with his stuffy nose. "Come in...," he painfuly squeaked before he winced by his scratchy throat.
Soon, the door began to open showing a woman with pink hair and blue eyes. Her name happens to be Susie. She was one of the robotic invaders that have taken over Popstar, until she sided with Kirby to destroy the evil Star Dream supercomputer once and for all. A few months after that, she has decided to live in Dreamland since she has nowhere to go now that the Haltmann Works Company is gone.
Susie steps in while looking down at her notepad. "There you are Kirby you're late. You promised that you would help me build my new workplace yesterday correct?"
Kirby's eyes winded in realization. Oh that's right! He's supposed to be helping Susie! He was about to say something before he let out a nasty cough which makes Susie lift her head up to take a look at him. Her eyes winded in shock before she dropped her notepad and runs to him. "Kirby, are you okay?"
"N-no...," Kirby struggled to speak clearly.
Susie touched his forehead. "I don't know, but you're burning up. Are you sick or anything."
"Yes...," Kirby nodded before he coughed.
"Oh...well..., where does it hurt Kirby?" The pink haired woman asked.
"Everywhere...poyo. My stomach...my throat...everything Susie." Kirby groaned sickly.
"Oh dear, I'm very sorry Kirby." Susie replied sadly. "Stay here, I'll be right back!" She then rushed out of here.
Kirby waited which seems to be like an hour for him. He was getting confused and worried. Did Susie left him? Was she ignoring him? Kirby felt like his heart is breaking. Oh why would Susie just come in and then bail-
"I'm back! Sorry it took so long." The pink haired woman rushed back to the young hero's abode. She was carrying a terminator in her hand. She walks beside Kirby's bed. "Open." She said before Kirby obliged. Susie then stick the terminator in his mouth before Kirby closed it. They both waited for about 5 minutes until they heard small beeping sounds.
Susie takes the terminator from Kirby's mouth and looks at the green numbers that said 107%. "Oh my goodness Kirby. I think your having a fever. You must've caught a virus. I'm afraid it's best that you need to stay in bed."
Kirby moaned glumly before he lays back on his bed. "Great." He muttered while he placed his stub on his aching head. "This is gonna be a boring day."
"But don't worry, I'll be calling my work people to cancel so that I'll be taking care of you." Susie brings out her phone. Kirby then turned and looked at her with a surprised expression. "Really?"
"Yes. Everybody's too busy to look after you so you have to be in my care." Susie said.
Kirby let out a weak smile. "Thanks..., *cough*...Susie...," He soon felt his stomach pain churning more before Kirby quickly gets up and rushed towards the thrash can.
"BLUARGH!"
Green nasty substance came bursting out of Kirby's mouth as he aims it to the trashcan. He was vomiting his brains out. Oh, poor Kirby. Looks like he's up for a long sick day.
Half of the day went by as things still aren't looking up to Kirby, but thankfully Susie had kept her promise to take care of him. She had brought him medicines and fed him chicken soup and hot tea while they were watching an Air Buddies movie.
Kirby was now finished with his hot tea as he was already bored out of his mind. He takes more cough drops until Susie stops him. "No, no Kirby. You can't eat all of them. They're not candy you know."
"Ah come oooonnn..., my throat is still bothering me...," Kirby whined. "It's on fire! It burns...It burns!"
"I'm sorry, I know it hurts but taking too much cough drops will do you no good." Susie told him.
"Fine." Kirby sighed.
"That's a good boy." Susie smiled with her hands on her hips while Kirby rolls his eyes.
"And I thought that heroes can't get sick!" Kirby grumbled.
"Everyone get sick Kirby, even heores and villains. Didn't you know that?" Susie said.
"Oh I should know that by now, poyo!" Kirby pouted childishly while sticking his tongue out. Susie giggled at his stubborn and childish attitude.
"My, looks like somebody's in a grumpy mood." She playfully said.
"Hello? Sick puffball here!" Kirby waved his arm stub while holding a damp muccus covered tissue.
"Oh right, right." Susie said. She then takes the empty tea cup and soup bowl and carries them to the sink before she starts washing them with soap and water.
"Say Susie...?" Kirby called her.
"Yeah Kirby?" Susie turned to him.
"Thanks for taking *cough* go-good care of me." Kirby smiled wearily.
"You're welcome Kirby." Susie smiled kindly. "Anything to help you since you took down Star Dream and help find me a home in Dreamland."
"Poyo..., you're welcome for...that." Kirby tries to ignore his scratchy throat as his stomach was still hurting but a little bit. He then blows his nose on the tissue. He looks at the clock saying that it's now 8:30pm as nighttime has arrived. "What is my temperature now?"
"Let me check." Susie checks her terminator and sticks it in Kirby's mouth before it beeps and says that Kirby's temperature is now 101%.
Susie smiled. "Okay, your temperature is dropping slowly. Which is good news."
Kirby smiled as he can't wait to get better tomorrow. He wish that his fever would go away quickly so that he would return back to his normal life. Susie then hands him a cup of sliver colored water. And it felt warm.
"What is it...poyo?" The pink child asked.
"It's salt water." Susie answered.
"Wait what?!" Kirby asked in shock. "You want me to drink this that came from the salty ocean?"
"No,no. Not that kind of salt water. I put salt and vinegar in the sink water and warm it in the microwave so you can gurgle it. It can help you with your fever." Susie explained.
"Well, okay." Kirby sips the salt water and gargles it before he spits it into the bucket Susie held out for him. It tasted disgusting to Kirby, but he knew he has to do it in order to restore his health to normal. Soon after taking 6 gurgles, he was done as Susie begins to clean the bucket.
"Now doesn't that seem better Kirby?" She asked.
"Yeah, I feel so great." Kirby sarcastically respond.
"Well, I think I know a way to help with with your grumpy mood." Susie then took out a small bottle and poured it into a spoon and hands it to Kirby. "Try it, it taste great and it will help soothe your throat."
"Okay." Kirby then sips the spoon as his eyes glisten with delight at how sweet it tasted. "Whoa...what is this...?"
"It's honey." Susie said.
"Well..., it's sweet...like you are to me." The pink puffball smiled.
"Aw, thanks Kirby." Susie blushed at Kirby's comment.
"Say, even though we got off the wrong foot back at Overload Ocean, I just wanted to say that you're still the sweetest caring person I know on the inside." Kirby blushed also.
The two stared at each other of a moment before they slowly lean their faces forward and connect their lips together then started to kiss. The two shared their kiss for about a minute until they shut their eyes open and break it while they were in shock.
"Ki...Kirby what the! Di-did you just...-" Susie gasped.
"I...I'm sorry...I didn't mean too Susie, I was just doing what you're doing...pl-please don't be mad." Kirby stuttered, scared that he'll make the pink haired female angry.
"Kirby that...that was really nice." Susie smiled while she blushed.
"It...it is?" Kirby asked.
"Yes. And secretly I've been hiding this feeling for months and now I wanted to tell you that I..., I love you Kirby." Susie stroked her pink hair with nervous while feeling butterflies in her tummy.
Kirby blushed with surprise as his heart was skipping a beat as if he's forgotten that he was sick. "I...I love you too Susie." He smiled.
"Really?"
"Yeah..., you want to do that again?"
"Sure."
They both resume sharing their kiss as it lasted for about five minutes.
"That was...,"
"Great poyo? I know." Kirby finished for her. "And thanks for being my dr, Susie."
"You're welcome to he my patient, Kirby." Susie smiled as she winked. They both soon rest for the night while Susie decides to share the bed with Kirby.
The next morning had came while Kirby has woken up from his peaceful sleep. He soon realised that his skin was back to normal which means that he's feeling much better.
"Yes, yes poyo!" He jumped up and down on the bed with joy. Looks like our happy little Kirby is back! "Susie, Susie! I'm feeling much better now!" He cheered.
But then he heard a cough from her as she was blowing her nose. Kirby frowned when he saw Susie now sick. Guess Kirby's illness must've been contagious. "Oops, sorry Susie." Kirby smiled nervously.
"Yeah yeah, thanks a lot Kirby." Susie coughed.
"Looks like I better bring you some salt water to gurgle." Kirby replied.
The End!
(*sigh*) Its not fun to be sick. Like literally. Plus I wanted to write a story about Kirby and Susie and that it gives me and idea. Plus I'm feeling sick right now and I hope I feel better soon like Kirby did. Anyway, take care now readers and please review.
