Allen sat there in what was left of a house. He and Kanda was sent out to receive an innocent only to find he was send to the town that was full of the past. There was nothing here, nothing but memories that are now in rumbles. Kanda somehow picked up on Allen mood.
"What the fuck is with you?" Kanda asked darkly towards Allen's direction. When he glanced at Allen when he didn't answer, the look he saw in Allen's eyes was full of sadness and pain. It caused pain to slice though Kanda's chest, feeling like ice and fire burning at him. Kanda shifted his weight and dared himself to look Allen in the eyes. What Kanda saw this time cause him to forget himself. Kanda walked right up to Allen and drop to his knees. Kanda felt his throat close up. The Allen he was seeing right now was broken. "Beat sprout.." Kanda didn't know what to say.
Allen looked up when Kanda fell to his knees before him. Upon hearing him calling him the nickname he hated, Allen felt tears fall. His past has caught up with him. Tonight he was the little boy who fought to survive, who lost everyone he loved. He wrapped his arm around the man in front of him. The only one that was around and one of the few he trusted. "Everything is gone." Allen whispered. "I don't even remember where Mana's grave is." What Kanda did next almost surprised Allen right out of his spiraling depression. Kanda hug Allen back and starting whispering in Allen's ear.
"It's going to be ok idiot. I know you are strong. I seen you fight battles and I know that is only physical but to have a strong body, you have to have a strong soul." Kanda knew what cause him to embraces this boy and he rather slowly die by a thousand swords before he let anyone know the truth. Kanda was a sucker for crybabies. Not the 'I'm hurt' crying, but the 'I have a dark past that hurts me' type of crying. Allen started crying harder and got a death grab onto Kanda "Stop fucking cry!" Kanda hated feeling helplesss. When Allen shook his head and asked one thing he hope Kanda would let him do.
"Just let me cry for a bit."
"God dam it." Kanda sighed. The tightness in his throat increased. Memories of his own past started to break
though the vault he built.
What could be minutes or hours the two men sat there, only Allen cries where hear in a village that had no one to hear them. Kanda tears where quiet and was wetting Allen shirt just as much as Allen was wetting his shirt. They were broken men that refused to let the past finish them off. They cried to gain the strength to keep going. Either one said a word was they stood up straight and started walking to their train stop in the town that was miles away. A bond was created that day between the two men. A bond they may or may not admit to.
"Kanda you got my shirt wet."
"Fuck you moyashi."
"DON'T CALL ME THAT BAKA-KANDA!"
They peer at each other out of the corner of their eye as they began to walk. One started to smile while the another one smirked.
They had a mission to complete after all. The past can call upon them another time.
