Their Little Sister
"You want to see your sister?" Arthur asked his four youngest sons. Bill and Charlie had already met her.
"Yes, daddy!" Ron said, bouncing up and down in excitement.
"Say dad, not daddy," Fred told him.
"Are you a baby?" George teased.
"Yes, he is," Percy replied in his usual uptight manner. "He is one and a half years old, so he is a baby."
Fred and George exchanged glances and snickered behind their hands.
"And you're fivety eight," George said.
"Fifty eight," Arthur corrected, and joined in, as the twins laughed their heads off.
With his nose held up in the air, Percy said, "If you two don't mind, I'll go to see my sister," and stomped away.
Grinning, Fred and George followed their father and Ron into the room.
"Hello kids," Molly said, smiling weakly. "Meet your sister, Ginevra Molly Weasley."
"She's so little," Fred said as he tried to touch her.
"She's lazy," George said.
"She's sleeping," Percy said, shushing the two. As if they cared.
Both of them jumped onto the bed, and snuggled in the blanket on either side of their mother, completely ignoring Ron who was now protesting. Within minutes, they were fast asleep.
.oOo.
"Wake up, Ginny," Fred whispered as he and George crept closer to her crib.
"See, this is a flobberworm," George said, showing her the worm, as she giggled. Fred took a string out of his pocket, and handed it over to George, and the duo got engaged in the tedious task of tying it onto her crib like a charm.
"You like it?" Fred asked, as Ginny clapped her hands. "It will sing you lullabies at night when we're away," he said.
"We'll bring you a garden gnome later," George said under his breath.
Before the two could sneak away, Molly spotted them.
"FRED AND GEORGE WEASLEY! What are you doing there?"
Ginny started crying, her shrill voice making their ear-drums burst. As Molly cooed into her ear, the two shook their heads and went back into the garden.
.oOo.
"C'mon Ginny, walk," Fred told his sister softly. The twins were currently holding one hand of their little sister each, and were trying to get her to walk.
As she steadied onto her feet, they carefully released her hands. With a plop, she was back on the ground, crying shrilly.
"Why do you always make her cry?" Percy angrily questioned. "I'm trying to solve a sum, can't you see." He picked Ginny up and settled her down in the crib.
"But—we were just teaching her how to walk," George countered.
Muttering, the twins left the room.
.oOo.
"Ginny, say Fred," he said to her.
George spoke as well. "No Ginny, say George."
The little girl looked from one face to the other, and in her babyish voice, said, "Fo-For-ge."
The twins grinned as she giggled and started clapping her hands.
"Oh dear!" Arthur muttered. "I had really hoped at least one of my children would say 'Daddy' first." Sighing, he went back to his newspaper.
