1+2, don't own the bishies but we love to play
Quite Comfortable
He casually stretched across the bed, leafing through a magazine. He relished the warm sheet rubbing against his stomach and happily swung his feet in the air, feeling a breeze pass through the holes in his socks. Yes, his clothes were mostly beat and ratty by now, but they were comfortable and they would have to make do. He eyed the open window across the room, wanting to shut it and cease the stream of cool air, but not wanting to leave the comforting warmth of the bed. He shrugged and continued to read.
Duo wasn't exactly sure if he felt cold because of the mid-autumn weather, or because of the absence in the house. Heero had just about admitted everything Duo had hoped to hear a few days ago when he was called away on a mission. Duo had no reason to worry, after it all, it was a simple data recovery, but he did feel nervous about his partner's return. The best he could do was read back issues of cheap magazines to take his mind off of any wandering what if's.
The room was probably the nicest he had been in since the start of his involvement with the other pilots. It had a decent bed, a few little decorative tables, soothing wallpaper, and even carpeting. But it all felt stark in the fall air, which left a hollow chill up the braided boy's spine.
He had felt this way before, waiting for something that he wasn't quite sure would even come. He was able to smooth his anxieties over with a nonchalant attitude, calmly rereading the same three paragraphs over and over until they finally sunk in and he could move on. He always knew the feeling of frigidness surrounding him for some inexplicable reason. No matter how hot it got, it was always there. No matter how many times he tugged his sweatshirt jacket against him, he would still feel the empty, cold air.
He bit his lip in mock interest and pretended to ignore the vacant chill. The sun flew through the window like shards of glass, illuminating select patches of carpeting with honey light. Duo scooted over a bit to catch a ray that covered part of the bed. He never even noticed that he began to shiver.
Just as he was about to turn another page he felt a weight on top of him. He could barely register it in his shocked state, but he did know that it felt very warm, and very safe. A pair of arms circled around his chest, creating a layer between him and the bed. A sneakered foot covered the hole in his sock while the other foreign leg gingerly ran up against his own. A warm pair of lips grazed the top of his ear with a question. "Miss me?"
Duo could only close his eyes with joy at the warm body that was pressing against his back. He slowly rolled to his back, allowing Heero to embrace him fully. He ran his hands up and down Heero's back, soaking in every beam. Heero just stared, his deep blue eyes glowing onto Duo's face.
All of a sudden the room didn't feel so cold anymore. The lonely chill faded from Duo as he clung to Heero.
"Do you want me to close that window?"
"No, I'm feeling quite comfortable."
