This (very short) story takes place right after Edward and Bella's wedding.
Disclaimer: It is only in my dreams that I own the Twilight saga. Ask Edward, every night, he hears me saying "Twilight! New Moon! Eclipse!" :P
The Dance of Death
Edward could see it in my eyes. He could see that I felt anxious, and his mouth formed into a small smile. He was relieved that I was afraid, because he knew that this emotion would put it off longer. As he searched my eyes more, though, the smile went back into the same straight line. I supposed it was because there was excitement in my eyes, too. I was excited because, after becoming his wife, I will become something more. I will become like him. And he hated that.
"You really want to become a monster, don't you?" he remarked after a while.
"I want to become like you, and you're not a monster at all" I murmured
He looked like he was about to give in. I smirked inwardly. We got off the car, walked into the Cullens' huge house, went up the stairs and down the hall to Edward's room (now our room).
Edward chose a CD and placed it in the stereo and I raised a quizzical brow at him. He smiled and walked toward me, pulling my arms up on his shoulders and putting his hands at my waist. A song with a quick tempo started to play.
"One last dance as a human, please, it will go on for only a short while" he whispered.
I wanted to protest, but as the song began, he started moving me, so I just sighed and allowed myself to be moved.
"When marimba rhythms start to play
Dance with me, make me sway
Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore
Hold me close, sway me more
Like a flower bending in the breeze
Bend with me, sway with ease
When we dance you have a way with me
Stay with me, sway with me
Other dancers may be on the floor
Dear, but my eyes will see only you
Only you have that magic technique
When we sway I go weak"
As we moved around the room, I perspired more from the dance. I was out of breath, and I felt my body heating up.
"I can hear the sounds of violins
Long before it begins
Make me thrill as only you know how
Sway me smooth, sway me now
Sway me, take me
Thrill me, hold me
Bend me, ease me
You have a way with me
Sway (sway)
Other dancers may be on the floor
Dear, but my eyes will see only you
Only you have that magic technique
When we sway I go weak
I go weak
I can hear the sounds of violins
Long before it begins
Make me thrill as only you know how
Sway me smooth, sway me now
Make me thrill as only you know how
Sway me smooth, sway me now
Make me thrill as only you know how
Sway me smooth, sway me now
Sway me
Sway me"
The song was nearing the end, and Edward moved me slower and slower, leaning in closer…
"Sway me now"
On that last note, his lips were at my neck and his hands were in my hair. And I felt a different kind of heat.
Oh, yes. I know it's not satisfactory, but I couldn't help proclaiming my love for this book through a continuation, so there! I apologize if there are any grammar mistakes; I'm only a human, after all (Haha. That sounds so ironic!) Please R&R, but I'd appreciate it if you didn't flame me. :P
P.S. The song was "Sway" by Pussycat Dolls.
