The Sun's rays intertwined with a cool breeze, leaving the temperature at a comfortable 50°. Technically, winter hadn't ended. Jeez, it seemed like spring would never come. With the increasing temperature, I was able to rid of my 'ugly' jacket; thankfully, as it barely fit anymore.

I sat a few yards from our camp, in the center of a dandelion patch. It's not like there's much else to do... I began twisting two dandelions together. First connecting the head of one to the stem of the other, and after a few minutes I'd made a long necklace out of the overlooked weeds. I smiled at my work and glanced upward, Kenny had been seated on the angled log to the side. Though, the brim of his classic hat cowering his face as he tended to little Alvie. I stood, brushing the dried grass from my jeans. In silence, I approached my guardian and hung the sloppy piece over his shoulders, sitting beside him before he could take notice.

Kenny looked to his chest for a moment, gingerly grasping it in hand, smiling. "We'll get in next time, darlin'. All of us." He wrapped one strong arm around the special little girl to his left. "As a family."
