The man stood on the side of the road by the edge of the marketplace. He toyed with scarves multiplying, changing, and disappearing them over and over again to draw in the people strolling past. The crowds were always the same and never the same. The people changed from place to place, but everyone seemed to like the same things. Making a coin appear from beneath a child's ear always earned him a few pieces. It was the best he could hope for doing this here. Maybe this magic could earn him more elsewhere. He could surely earn more doing the magic he learned at university, but it wasn't worth the risk of breaking his character. This was magic enough for now.
