A/N: I posted this a while ago on A Teaspoon and an Open Mind, so if it looks familiar, that's why. I'm not certain about the rating, so let me know if you think I should bump it up.

The Doctor burst into the room without knocking, which he had a bad habit of doing when he was excited about something. Rose gave a small squeak and sank lower in the bathtub, suddenly grateful that she had used so much bubble bath. She gaped at him in disbelief as he began to prattle on about the upcoming celebration for the crowning of some king on some moon somewhere, apparently completely oblivious to the awkwardness of the situation. She normally found his overt enthusiasm to the point of excluding all other thoughts endearing, but this was taking it a bit too far. It was several seconds before she could force herself to speak. "Doctor!"

He paused in his lecture, looking slightly miffed about having been interrupted. "What?"

"I'm in the bath!"

Now it was the Doctor's turn to find himself speechless. He swept his eyes over the bubbles, seeming to notice them for the first time. His mouth opened and closed several times in a fish-out-of-water sort of way before a single syllable escaped him. "Ah."

Rose waited a few seconds, but the Doctor seemed stunned into inaction as an embarrassed flush slowly crept into his cheeks. "So," she prodded, "it would probably be a good idea for you to wait outside."

"Yes, quite right," he agreed, but he continued to stare dazedly at the surface of the water.

Deciding that a more direct approach was needed to wake him up, Rose raised one dripping arm and pointed resolutely at the door. "Out!"

The sharp tone of her voice seemed to return the Doctor to his senses, and he beat a decidedly undignified retreat, mumbling a string of incoherent apologies as he shut the door firmly behind himself.

Rose stared at the door for a few moments before chuckling quietly to herself. As embarrassing as the situation may have been for her, the look on his face had been absolutely priceless. She was never gonna let him live this one down.
