Narcissa Black was sitting in the living room of the house that she thought she would never set foot in. She was sitting in the window looking out at the snow covered street below.
It had been five years since the end of the second wizarding world. A lot has happened since then. She finally saw things for what they truly were, she no longer cared about blood purity and discovered that it didn't matter if you were a blood traitor, muggleborn, or a half blood, as long as you were a good person and had upstanding qualities that was all that truly mattered.
Two months after the war she decided to divorce her husband of nearly twenty five years. She had finally discovered that he was nothing more than a pompous ass, and cared to much about what society thought and didn't think his family was important. So she decided to leave the only life she had ever known.
Lucius didn't seem to care when her lawyers sent him the papers and he signed them and had them sent back the next day. He had found somebody new. The news was all over the Daily Prophet. The divorce was finalized six months later.
She was finally free from the arranged marriage that her parents had set up before she was even born. She bought her old family home and had it cleaned up and restored to its original beauty. She only had one house elf that she rarely used. She loved her new found independence, and decided to get a job at the ministry as a secretary for the department of muggle affairs.
Narcissa loved her job and gained a new friendship that quickly to turned into more than that. She never thought that she would fall in love but her heart had proved her mind wrong and was quickly gaining feelings for someone that she would have never thought of that way in a million years.
She was snapped out her thoughts when the front door opened and foot steps were heard through the hallway. Narcissa turned around when the footsteps became closer. Narcissa briefly looked at the wedding ring on her left hand. She looked up when the living room door opened and revealed the love of her life.
Hermione Granger, Gryffindor, muggleborn, war hero, and one third of the "Golden Trio" had stolen her heart. There was a smile on her face when she spotted her wife standing by the window looking at her.
Hermione crossed the room and stood by the window next to Narcissa
"Hello love" Hermione greeted and kissed her briefly before sitting down on one of the sofa's and motioned for her to join her.
Narcissa briefly looked out the window and saw how the snow was beginning to fall again, and she turned around and joined Hermione on the couch and wrapped her arms around and kissed her hair.
"Is there something wrong Cissy?" Hermione asked a few minutes later.
Narcissa was snapped out of her daze and looked Hermione and smiled and kissed her once again and pulled back after few moments and whispered.
"No everything is perfect"
For the first time in her life she had truly found happiness.
