HiJack week day 1: Prompt; Cuddling
It was well past midnight when Jack came floating in through Hiccup's bedroom window. However despite the time, Jack wasn't the leas bit surprised to see Hiccup wide awake, working as always at his desk. Jack frowned a bit. Had it been any other night Jack would have scolded the young viking for his poor sleeping habits, however tonight he just didn't have it in him. He was too worn out, too disappointed in the day's earlier events.
When Hiccup glanced over to see his lover trudging past him to flop silently on his bed, a small smile formed on his lips. "You're not even going to say 'hi'?"
Jack rolled his blue eyes slightly, muttering, "Hi."
Hiccup gave a small chuckle, standing from his desk and stretching his arms. "Long night?"
"Not really," Jack admitted, sighing as he sat up. He ran a hand through his white hair, a frown on his lip.
Hiccup knew that frown all too well. He walked over to the bed and sat beside the sprite, tilting his head. "Jack."
"I know, I know," Jack groaned, not meeting Hiccup's gaze. "I should be used to this...to people not...seeing me. It just gets to me."
"No, I get it," Hiccup assured, pulling the other into his arms and resting his chin atop Jack's head. (Being older had it's advantages, indeed).
Jack heaved a heavy sigh, his head against Hiccup's shoulder as he spoke softly. "To be honest, it hasn't even bugged me that much recently."
Hiccup arched an eyebrow. "Then why is it bothering you so suddenly?"
"Well, there was this group of kids," Jack began, pulling away from the hug and smiling brightly at Hiccup. "They were throwing snowballs and having, like, the time of their lives! Hic, it was awesome. I wanted to run in and join them but..."
Jack didn't finish, a frown forming on his lips. Hiccup hated when Jack frowned like that and, quietly, he spoke. "...Because those particular kids couldn't see you."
Jack gave a slow nod. "Yeah...I just really wanted to have fun with them. I mean yeah a lot of kids believe in me now and everything and I should be happy but...but there are still a lot of kids who do't believe and it...it's stupid, Hic, really. I shouldn't be upset over it."
"It's not stupid," Hiccup smiled, shaking his head. "If it makes you sad then-"
"I never said it made me sad!" Jack huffed quickly, looking away again.
Hiccup chuckled, nodding as he pulled Jack back into his arms. "But it does make you sad, which is why it isn't stupid, Frostbite."
At the sound of the horrid nickname Jack rolled his eyes but didn't pull away from the embrace. He inhaled the young viking's scent, something woodsy but also something that could only be described as Hiccup. It was a scent that always calmed him in any situation. He gave the smallest of smiles, his arms wrapping around the boy. "...At least you see me."
"And I'm glad I do," Hiccup grinned, lying back and pulling Jack down with him. Arms tight around Jack Frost, Hiccup placed a light kiss on his head. "I love you, Jack."
Jack's arms tightened a bit around him as he felt a blush rise to his cheeks. "...I love you, too, Hiccup."
Hiccup's grin grew wider and he snuggled into Jack one last time before the both of them fell asleep.
So? What do you think? A day late for HiJack week day 1, really, but hey, this couple is just to perfect. Reviews please? I'd really like to know what you think :)
