Before you read this, please realize that this is not meant to be taken seriously. It was conceived before Mass Effect 3 was out, when I was naïve and thought that it was possible to get Kaidan, Anderson, Udina, and the Council all in the same room, and it is very silly. Obviously now that's way off cannon, but I couldn't resist the idea, and it works best this way. Prompted by the unexplained picture of Kaidan in the human embassies in ME2, it's just a silly explanation of how it could have gotten there. If this makes someone smile my mission will be fulfilled!

Enjoy, and leave me a review!

It had started as a quick stop to the human embassies to have a chat with Anderson before a meeting with the Council. However, as Shepard followed Anderson out of the door, a holo frame on his desk caught her eyes. She did a double take, and then paused to study it closer. Picking it up, she stared at it incredulously.

"Shepard?" Garrus asked from behind her. "Is something wrong?"

Shepard remained quiet for a moment before she replied slowly.

"There might be," she said before muttering, "I've got to have a talk with Kaidan. And Anderson. And I'm taking this with me." After a few awkward seconds of trying to pocket the frame, Shepard settled on simply clutching on to it as she stormed out of the room.

Garrus and Tali, both utterly confused, stared at the door that Shepard had just exited.

"Isn't she supposed to be at that Council meeting right about now?' Garrus asked as they snapped out of their daze and ran after the commander.

"I think she still is." Tali replied, noting the direction Shepard had taken off in.

"This is going to be good."

"Before we start this meeting I have a very important matter I must discuss," Shepard announced, throwing pointed looks at Kaidan and Anderson, who were both in attendance of the meeting.

"If you mu-" the asari councilor began. However, before she had time to finish, Shepard had rounded on Kaidan and Anderson.

"What is this?" Shepard demanded, waving the frame at them accusingly. Kaidan, taken aback by her sudden rush of anger, tried to mollify Shepard by answering as cautiously as possible.

"It's a holo of me," he said carefully.

"Well, no shit Sherlock," Shepard snapped. "What I want to know is what is this holo, the exact same holo of you that I had, doing on Anderson's desk? I mean, I know I've been gone for awhile but I didn't think I was gone for that long. I didn't think that that much would have changed."

Both men looked stunned, Shepard was still waving the frame around furiously, Tali was surreptitiously recording the conversation on her omni-tool, and the Council was flabbergasted.

"Commander," the asari councilor started, "Perhaps this is not the best-" But Shepard silenced her by putting up a hand.

"Well," Shepard demanded, "I'm still waiting."

Anderson stuttered something along the line of, "I don't know how it got there." Kaidan took a few steps away from Anderson with an odd expression on his face, as if he had just realized what this all meant.

"Why do you have a holo of me, Anderson?" he asked, now a good eight feet away from the man.

Shepard tapped her foot. Kaidan continued to back away. The Council had left, turning off their holographic communicators in exasperation.

Behind the odd confrontation, Udina held back a cackle, thinking back to when he had planted the holo on Anderson's desk. Best. Idea. Ever.
