"Addie" a sweet voice woke Addison. "What...mom...can't you see i'm trying to sleep?" she groaned, plopping her head back on the pillow. "Oh, i thought you wanted a pet?" Her mother blurted the word "pet" out and Addison jerked up. Her mother giggled and asked her, "Pancakes or waffles?". "Waffles, please" Addison replied, running to her dresser and searching for something to wear. Her mother had already left the room and Addison rushed to get on her shoes and then darted downstairs to meet a feast. The young lady licked her lips and sat down to eat. "Ah.Ah.Ah. Young lady. You know we mus do our prayers first" Her father scolded. "Oh leave the poor thing alone. She has a big day today" Her mother interfered. "uhmm" Her father grumbled and sat back down. Addison happily ate her share and then waited near the door for her mother. "Come on mom!" Addison or, Addie, as her mom would call her, complained. "Hold on Addison" Her mother replied as she searched through her purse for the car keys.
As soon as her mom found them they walked out the door. "Honey? Can you take Max and Rosie out for a walk?" Addison's mother pionted to the two dogs near the table. Her father nodded and continued eating. Addison waited patiently inside the car and turned on the radio. "Are we ready to go, Addie?" her mother asked. Addison nodded her head, her eyes filled with exitment. Her mother nodded and turned the keys and started the car. They pulled out of the drive way and drove down Swatchy lane for a while until they found a giant pet store and parked in the parking lot. Addison rejoyced as she hopped out of the car. "Mom? I kind of want a bird" Addison said, pointing to a painting of a bird in the window. Her mother nodded "Well lets see what they have first. You never know, you may change your name". Addison nodded, "Yeah, she's right. I may change my mind" she thought as they walked into the pet store. She didn't know what it was about that painting, she just wanted a bird all of a sudden.
As soon as they stepped foot into the pet store, Addison's eyes lit up as she saw a yellow conur. She screeched and ran over to it, petting it's tiny head."Pretty bird" She said as she stroked the bird. "Mom!" she yelled as she ran towards her mother, who was checking out some of the snakes they had there. "Mom!" she repeated. "Yes, Addie?" she replied, her eyes still on a python. "Have you found a pet you want?" She asked. "Yes mom! I found a yellow conur at the bird section!" she leaped for joy when she heard her mother say she can get two if she wanted. She ran back to the conur and another bird cuaght her eye. "An African gray parrot!" She didn't know what to choose. They might not get along tho... she thought
