He tenderly tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, his eyes not quite meeting hers. She is so touched by that heartfelt gesture, and she knows she is undeniably going to miss him.
Her eyes are watery, but she is refusing to shed any tears in front of him. She has put on a strong facade throughout their adventures, and she is going stick to that.
To her, Newt Scamander is no longer the stuttering, shy man she met a while back, in a small alcove just off of a street; in fact, he is much more than that.
At first sight, he may seem like a weak, pitiful man, but once you get to know him, you realize he is much stronger than he seems. Like they say, there's more to him than meets the eye.
There are many emotions circulating the two of them at the moment. Many are entirely indescribable. The most prominent is uncertainty. They've been through so much, and through it all, he's been at her side constantly. He's kept her grounded; without him, she would've gone insane.
She's lost so many dear people in the last week alone: Credence, Jacob, and now, she's saying adieu to another dear friend.
He's promised to hand deliver a copy of his widely anticipated book. He's already set on a title: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She can't wait.
She doesn't know when she's going to see him again, but all she do for now is bid him farewell.
