Loki stood in the icy shrine and stared at the altar Odin had found him when he was a baby. He sighed a deep sigh that formed into a cold breath.
In this frosted realm, he appeared as the Frost Giant he had been born as. Not so giant though. Too short for a Frost Giant, and yet too tall for an Asgardian. He felt as out of place there as he did here. Nowhere can I call home, he thought to himself.
Odin had said he was born to be a king. Looking back on that day, he wondered if Odin had meant king of Asgard or king of Jotunheim. His biological father was King Laufey, which made him the rightful heir to the throne of Jotunheim.
But Laufey had left him to die on this altar. Was it because he didn't measure up to giant size?
He once again exhaled a frosty breath. His red eyes shed tears of ice. He wiped them off his face with the back of his hand. If he was destined to be a king then let it be on Asgard. He walked out of the shrine and called to Heimdall.
The rainbow effect appeared and he stepped into it. Back on Asgard he rode his horse back to the palace. He would prove to Odin he was worthy of the throne and stop that oaf of a brother from becoming king.
Thor as king? No that could never happen. Thor was an imbecile who was full of himself. He would bring Asgard to ruin. Loki could not allow that. He would think of a way to disrupt the coronation and at the same time end the world that had abandoned him.
He would then become the king, Asgard deserved. An intelligent king who could lead them into greatness. A better king than even Odin had been. He would claim his birthright just as Odin had said he would.
He stopped his horse at the palace entrance, dismounted and entered. With his plan set in his mind and back to looking like the Asgardian Loki he went to his chambers to prepare for this ridiculous coronation of his brother's. He would pretend he was happy for Thor and looking forward to him becoming king.
He stood in front of his mirror not just to make sure of his appearance, but to use his magic and send a message to King Laufey, telling him to send men to invade Asgard. Everyone would be at the coronation. Making it the best time to render their revenge.
Once he was done sending his message, he walked to where Thor would be, waiting for his introduction. He smiled at his brother and asked. "Nervous brother?" As if Loki really cared, he thought to himself. Thor gave the answer he knew he would. That hideous laugh. Then the reply. "Have you ever known me to be nervous, brother?"
Loki pretended to think about his answer. "Well, there was this one time in Nornheim- "
"That was not nerves, it was rage of battle," Thor corrects Loki. "How else would I have gotten Past a hundred warriors to pull us out of there?
Loki knew it was he who had pulled them out of there using magic. How much longer was he going to endure this idiot? Thankfully the conversation did not last much longer. Thor's helmet was handed to him and they walked out into the cheering crowd. Cheering for an idiot instead of Loki. They would stop cheering soon enough once Loki's plan went into effect. Then and only then would he finally be able to prove to Father, who truly deserved to be king.
