Still falling,
Breathless and on again…
The wind whipped through Orihime's hair as she walked through Karakura park. After Kurosaki had rescued her from the 5th Tower of Las Noches, she had been swiftly returned to the real world and holed up in Urahara's shop. Although the living quarters were always full of people – Jinta bullying Ururu, Yoruichi playfully teasing Urahara – due to her newly aquirred quietness, she was often overlooked and felt very much alone. By chance she came to the section of the park she had desperately been trying to avoid. The evidence of their first encounter scarred the ground like that day left a scar in her heart.
Inside me today,
Beside me today.
Sometimes she thinks she still feels his presence, like a whisper on the wind. Although she knows the only place he lives now is in her heart.
Around broken in two,
Until your eyes shed
Into dust
It wasn't something she could bear to think about, those final moments. Her fear at what Kurosaki had become, what he had done. And then… A hand extends - "Are you scared of me, girl?"
Like two strangers,
Turning into dust,
'til my hand shook with the way I fear
"I'm not scared" Tears in her eyes she made her reply. She wasn't scared. Not of him anyway. She never was, despite his threats, his interrogations. He'd asked her what a heart was, and in that last moment she believed he'd finally understood - That look of sadness through her outstretched fingers was evidence enough for her.
I could possibly be fading,
Or have something more to gain
In his last moments, Ulquiorra Cifer had a realization. The woman he had once deemed "Trash" had been his salvation. In the last few weeks, he had discovered how to live again, how to feel again. How cruel it was, he thought, that he had to realize this in those precious final minutes. Her outstretched hand slipped through his dissipating fingers.
I could feel myself growing colder
I could feel myself under your fate,
Your fate
He closed his eyes and turned away, the ghost of a smile playing on his lips. "Oh I get it…"
It was you, breathless and tall
"This is it… here in my hand" In Hueco Mundo, dawn never comes. But for the fallen Cuatro Espada the sun had risen once again. As his emerald eyes merged with the atmosphere he entrusted the one thing he had left to the woman who had brought him back from the dark – his heart.
I could feel my eyes, turning into dust
Orihime Inoue's tears fell in earnest, as she sat at the edge of the crater. All she could think is why?
Orihime did not love tradgedy, but tradgedy it would seem, loved her.
And so her tears fell, for herself and for those she couldn't save… Why couldn't I have been stronger?
From by a tree a lone figure watched the copper haired girl cry her lament to the scar that marred the beauty of the park. Cautious, he took a step forward.
Like two strangers, turning into dust
She knew someone was there, of course she did. The thing of it was, she just didn't care who it was. There was only one person she wanted to see, and he was gone, fated never to return.
And then, a somewhat indifferent voice rang out through the gloom – "Why are you crying, woman?"
Turning into dust…
