Had to write a scene for my english class using subtext in all the dialogue and I was having trouble figuring out what to do when I was struck with an idea. I decided to use Mary and James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2 in their final moments before James smothers her and this was the result.
Enjoy!

EDIT: Went back and fixed some things after receiving the revised story.
A gentle knocking at the door pulled Mary away from the window as her husband walked into the room. He walked over to her bedside and asked with a strained edge to his voice, "How are you feeling today, honey?"
"How does it look like I'm feeling, James?" she scowled.
"Well, I just thought you might like some fresh air. You've been cooped up for so long I thought you might like to get out and escape."
"Why should I leave the house just to come back to it?"
"You just seemed forlorn to me, all alone here by yourself, and looked like you needed company of some kind."
"Company is for people who have a long life to look forward too. I'm surprised you're still here bothering with me, James! You must really be desperate." She said, voice cracking.
His hand gripped the bed sheets, but his expression remained neutral, "If that's what you want," he said as he stood up ready to head for the door, her hand shot out and grabbed his.
"What is it? I thought you wanted me to leave," He turned back towards Mary.
Mary looked up into his face, tears brimming in her eyes, "James, I didn't mean it! Don't leave me alone in here again. You're supposed to take care of me…"
Anger flared through his body again. Why should he have to take care of her? It wasn't his fault she'd gotten sick. Yet here he was, upholding his marital vows, sticking with her through sickness, and eventually death; death that could not come soon enough at this rate. Suddenly his anger seemed to outwardly subside as the long since spoken words echoed in his mind.
"If that's what you really wanted, why didn't you just say so." He said. He leaned over and kissed her on the forehead. His hands shot out and grabbed hold of one of the pillows underneath Mary's head and brought it down upon her face. There was a surprised gasp from her followed by muffled screams.
Mary kicked and thrashed about in her bed, calling out and screaming for someone to help. As the world began to fade from her, the last thing she heard was the repetitious words her husband was frantically whispering as he shoved the pillow harder into her face.
"Through sickness and health, till death do us part. Through sickness and health, till death do us part. Through sickness and health, till death do us part…"
The house fell quiet.
