Once when her prince comes to the rescue, only to realize that the rescuer wasn't really a help.
Kahoko didn't know how that happened. She was happily chatting with her friend in their break time and busily spooning her strawberry shortcake when one of their classmate—which she considered annoying after what he have done—bumped her right arm causing the mouthful of sugar indulgence to touch the tiled floor. It didn't stop there nonetheless, as the said classmate whisked away the remaining cake from her table. In that time, Kahoko knew that her friend Nao was madly chastising her classmate for his rude behavior. Nevertheless, what happened after that was beyond what they expected.
A voice stilled everyone. A silent yet graceful entrance, that was so enticing, quieted the noises in the place. Some gave a shock reaction and some flush and fainted dead away.
Kahoko blinked. Once. Twice. And even thrice. One hand held her with a gentle tug. Kahoko allowed her body to glide towards him. Before she knew it, they were in front of the counter.
Looking in amazement, she did catch a glimpse of a pinkish color, alike of her previous cake. She smiled at the sight, lifting her head to thank her prince, however her giddy feeling ceased from thumping. Her face marred with indifference.
How she wished for a prince, but without the word charming after it.
The prince charming didn't omit the bright smile on his façade, his beauty was ethereal anyone who would see that smile would have fainted. Surely, there were quite a number of girls who had lost their consciousness.
"No need to thank me." He nodded, his little smile grew into a smirk that only Kahoko knew what it was. "Meet me at the rooftop, later."
And that was the story behind her recent predicament. Moreover, she was flustered enough to rethink on why they were in this kind of position. "Yunoki-sempai, would you move a little?" Kahoko stammered. "You're too close."
The guy merely chuckled, ignoring her rebuff and only stepping closer to feel their proximity. He placed his right hand on the balcony as if caging her.
Kahoko awkwardly turned at the side to avoid his look, and to hide her flushed face. Her heart did a good hammering in her ribs that she was quite anxious about that he might hear it and use it to tease her more. Now that another tease would make it worse.
"You know?" he didn't wait for her reply. He hoisted his hand over her waist, as if pulling her closer to him. He smiled as she let out a soft gasp. "My sister, Miyabi has been greatly smitten with American cartoon movies. I was mildly curious of what enjoyment it gives to her hence I have indulged myself with the said show."
"I don't want to sound rude, Yunoki-senpai, but what's the connection?"
Azuma chuckled. "My, Kahoko, don't be very gallant. I just wanted to say that that show taught me something very interesting."
Somehow curious, Kahoko looked at him. "What is it?"
"Something very fitted for us."
"And that is?"
"My, my." Azuma chuckled, placing his chin atop her shoulder. His breath caressed her skin. "That movie taught me that toys have feelings too. So I have to take care and protect my toy."
"Huh?"
"And that's what I'm going to do." He smirked. "I'm going to take care of my toy."
"Did you by chance watch this animated movie called Toy Story?" Kahoko had to fight the urge to slap herself when the lad smiled and nodded his head. She sighed. It would be added to her predicament.
