Knockin on Heavens Door
The hum is always there, in the background, I'd never noticed it before,
but now, just before the end, I can hear it, the hum of The Wired, all around
us, every day, every night, always present, always with us.
The wind is cool in my face, on the roof of this building, the tallest I
could find, there's nothing to get in the way of it, and the breeze is
refreshing, I don't know why, but it makes me feel good.
Below me, far below me, I see the people of the city, most of them do
not understand, most do not hear God talking to them, most cannot understand
why I am going to jump, why I'm going to knock on heaven's door.
I smile, I remember that old song my father played so much, and with
that smile on my face I step off the ledge.
Knock, Knock, Knockin' On Heaven's Door
The chorus shuffles through my mind as I pick up speed, but oddly enough
I sense that everything is a little slower.
Knock, Knock, Knockin' On Heaven's Door
I will soon be joined with The Wired, I'll soon be with God and the
others, forever at peace and forever loved and cherished, that's what he
promised me, what God told me, I only have to give up my body and The Wired
will embrace me.
Knock, Knock, Knockin' On Heaven's Door
How do you give up your body?
It's kinda strange, you just have to try to kill yourself, but you only
have to kill your body, it's difficult to explain, but you'll get it when you
try it out for yourself.
Knock, Knock, Knockin' On Heaven's Door
When I hit the pavement I don't feel anything, at first I just lie
there, watching the world go by for a few moments, a crowd gathers around me,
they think I'm dead.
As I glance at the crowd one man walks towards me, he is smiling at me,
God has found me, he has delivered me to The Wired as promised.
Why don't you come here too?
