Note: This is NOT a slash piece. Sauron's love for his master, Morgoth, is like…Beregond's for Faramir. Yeah. This contains spoilers for The Silmarillion, I think. I haven't finished the book yet, so I'm just piecing things together on my own.
And Sauron is behaving very…un-Sauron-like, but what the hey? Just review and tell me how it is.
Disclaimer: Sauron, Morgoth and all related characters belong to Tolkien.
'Tis Everything I have LeftMany names I have been called after my master Morgoth fell. Many names he had as well—Melkor, Bauglir, the Dark Lord, the Enemy.
Two of the names I was given as a shadow of my Lord's—Dark Lord and the Enemy.
Great was my Lord Morgoth, the mightiest of the Valar of Ilúvatar when Eä was created. Of his own mind and song my Lord had, that which was not sung in tune with Ilúvatar's choir.
Knew I with certainty that Morgoth of the Valar alone could rule Eä, and I followed him and served him, for Maiar was I, his servant.
My Lord did fall by the might of the Valar, but escaped I did. Grevious was his fall to me, for I loved my Lord, and his visions for Eä, that which the other Valar could never grasp.
His song gave beauty to all the Valar conceived—the Shadow which if present would raise the works of the Valar mightily.
I longed for my Lord, but he was not to return. My memories of him which I held I did place into a Ring forged, and place myself into it as well, for memories were fleeting, and only could it be remembered to me in tangible form, and it was the Lord of the Rings of Elves, Dwarves and Men, as my Lord Morgoth was over us all.
Isildur cut the Ring from me. My Ring. The Ring of my Lord's spirit and myself. And he took it and wore it.
Greatly angered was I as I gathered my strength of the Nine in search of all who defiled the Ring, for none could wear it save I alone, or my master Morgoth, of whom I did place my trust and life in.
The Ring was my soul placed with my Lord's, and I could not part with it.
Evil, they call me. The Dark Lord. The Enemy. Lord of the Rings. Nay, for only one Ring do I care about—the One Ring of my soul.
Can they not see that only when I am reunited with myself can I truly find peace yet again? Can they not see that I long to rule Middle Earth only for the dream of my Lord's?
For since the beginning I have followed him and led a life of his visions. I had none of mine and his became mine, cast into my Ring. I do not serve another, and the Ring is what I have left of my Lord, and my life.
'Tis all I have left.
