" Ahh, Shintaro! Snow flakes! "
" Yes, I can see that. "
" Let's go play outside! "
As the snow fell down, Ayano dashed up ahead of Shintaro. All of the other students are probably gone. Leaving only both of them here.
"Don't run too much. Hey, are you even listening?" Shintaro warned. But unfortunately, she fell.
"Ouch.." Ayano said. "I told you. The snow is slippery so be careful next time." She just laughed instead. "Eheh.. Sorry~ I guess I was too excited about the snow." she giggled, making silly faces as she rubbed her head.
The place was quite. No sounds of traffic, only the sounds of their footsteps crunching underneath the snow. It was a surprisingly quite day. And Shintaro doesn't seem to mind it. He was quite happy. Shintaro also didn't mind that he's walking together with Ayano.
" Hey, Shintaro. Do you ever think of the snow as a bother?"
That question surprised him. "Not really. Why?" he asked.
" Because my dad has been bragging about it. Every time he wants to drive his car, the snow would just block the way." Ayano giggled.
There was a pause. Then Shintaro continued.
" It is troublesome sometimes."
Ayano smiled at his response. " I've never think of the snow as a bother. "
She gazed up upon the grey sky, making a calm expression. That was rare because she was usually the cheerful type who just couldn't stop with her enthusiasm.
"It's like a blank canvas. That needs to be painted!" She smiled.
Shintaro looked at Ayano with a questioning look.
" How are you supposed to paint the snow?"
Ayano laughed at Shintaro's question, then answered.
" That's not what I meant, silly~ It's just that the snow is blank, like a person's heart or personality. And it needs to be painted, which meant that the person should put a meaning into his or her life." Ayano explained.
Shintaro didn't know what to say. He just looked at Ayano without her noticing. " Don't you think?" Ayano continued as she smiled ear to ear at him. Shintaro looked away for the fact that his heart jumped when she did that.
The two of them walked along the side of the road as Ayano was talking about unnecessary matters. But Shintaro doesn't seem to care. He was just glad that he had someone beside him.
" Hey Ayano."
" Hm?"
" Thank you."
Ayano was surprised of what he said. "Why?" she asked. Shintaro just kept quite while slightly smiling. Ayano saw his smile, then teased him.
" Ehh~ I just saw you smiling, Shintaro!"
"Shut up."
"I wish Shintaro could always smile!"
Shintaro just gave a glare at Ayano, which she doesn't really mind.
" Hey Shintaro."
" What is it this time?"
" I was wondering.. How does your canvas look like?"
".. Not fully painted I guess."
" Then can I paint it for you?"
There was a pause. Ayano just blushed at the embarrassing question she just asked.
Shintaro replied, ".. Sure."
That surprised Ayano.
"Okay!" she smiled.
