She felt alone. She was lost.

The rain just kept pouring. She was soaking wet, but at the time she didn't really care.

This spot, meant so much to her. Before, it was just a place for all of her friend to meet up. Just talk. And laugh. That was before it happened. Now it was a park full of memories she'll never get back.

So she sat there.

It had been months. Nobody came here anymore.

'Damn this rain.'

She looked up into the dark grey clouds. It seemed like they went on forever. Not even a patch of blue in the sky.

"Shinozaki? What are you doing here?" A familiar voice called from behind her.

"Kishinuma? I could as you the same thing." She replied unfazed. She just kept looking at the clouds.

Slow, sloshy foot steps crept beside her. The rain stopped falling on her. This caught her attention.

Ayumi looked over at the blonde haired boy. He was holding a large black umbrella over the two of them. She had been thinking about him a lot lately. She didn't know why. Out of all the people she could have got stuck with in there, she was with him. At the time, he was an annoyance. But now that she looked back on it, she was truly happy it was him. No one else would have protected her the way he did.

"What brings you here?" Ayumi softly asked.

Yoshiki sat down next to her on the wet ground. "I was looking for you."

"How'd you know I was here?"

"I didn't," he said looking her in the eyes. "This was the last place I could think you'd be."

"Nobody comes here anymore. It's depressing. I thought I'd pay a visit. Relive the good memories." She said with a solemn look in her eyes. She averted her focus to the hem of her skirt.

"It is sad. I really liked this place." Yoshiki replied.

"Kisinuma? Can I ask you something?" Ayumi asked looking up at his deep grey eyes. His eyes matched the clouds.

"Sure," he questioned with curiosity.

"Why did you protect me there? After all the bullshit I put you through, why? Why me?" She said sternly.

Yoshiki chuckled at that. This made Ayumi much more interested in his answer.

"Because you mean a lot to me, Shinozaki. You're special in my eyes," he said with a smile on his face. "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here. I would have hit that asshole in the face. I would have been kicked out of school. And I would have never looked back. I guess, in my mind, I owe you. You have no idea how much that meant to me."

Ayumi was honestly shocked by this answer. She never thought about how much that moment meant to him.

"You mean a lot to me too," Ayumi replied with a small smile on her face.

Slowly she leaner her head on his shoulder and watched the rain fall.

At that moment, a small patch of blue sky came from the horizon.

Brighter days were sure to come.
