A/N: I went roller skating recently with some friends and was inspired, although it took me a little while to get this to work in a way I was happy with. Has some tie-ins with "Even Angels Fall," but you don't need to have read that. Hope you enjoy!

Learning Experiences

"This is so humiliating."

Eric looked back to where a disgruntled looking Pam stood, clutching the edge of the roller skating rink, decked out in full protective gear.

"I didn't tell you to wear it," he reminded her, suppressing a grin at the sight.

"It was your idea to roller skate," she grumbled.

"At least it's pink," Eric said after a pause.

She glared at him, "Do not start with me Eric."

"I think you look cute."

Pam's glare intensified, if that were possible, before she narrowed her eyes dangerously. "I want a new Maker," she said flatly.

"Now that hurt," Eric objected, gliding back to join her.

"One who won't put me in these humiliating situations but will worship the ground I walk on," she continued, ignoring his comment.

"Is it such a crime that I want to share these experiences with you?" he asked innocently, slipping a steadying arm around her waist.

Pam smiled, "Well, when you put it that way…" she glared at him again, "I still want to go home."

"Killjoy," he muttered, dutifully helping her towards the exit.

"Sadist," she shot back.

"At least roller skating isn't wet," he commented.

"Reminding me of your past failures is not helping you case," Pam informed him.

"Learning experiences," he corrected her, "they were learning experiences."

"Yeah, I learnt never to let you plan our outings."

"No, you learnt I'll never let you fall," he replied smoothly.

Pam gave him a withering look, "If you say so."

"I know so."

"Cocky git," she mumbled.

The words were barely out of her mouth when she lost her balance (again) and tumbled backwards, Eric caught her before she hit the ground.

"You were saying?" he asked smugly as he helped her right herself.

"Just shut up and take me home," she grumbled.

"As you wish my little commandant," he replied easily as they exited the rink, earning himself another glare from Pam.
