Adam's POV
"Who are you?"
Hearing those words made my whole world start to come crashing down. He didn't remember. He didn't remember and it was all my fault.
I was the one who fell asleep while driving the car. I was the one who didn't let him drive, no matter how many times he told me I was too tired to drive. I was the one who didn't give up.
I remember waking up to him pushing me aside a bit while trying to get the car under control again, but it was too late. We were already well on our way towards the big tree by then.
Then, suddenly, I was woken up from my thoughts by soft words.
"Hey.. Don't look so sad." He said with a soft, caring look in his eyes. It was the look I had learned to love.
Then, as I gave him a small smile, he smiled back and then asked who I was again.
"I'm somebody you used to know." I answered with a sad tone in my voice. "I'm sorry." I then whispered into his ear before kissing his cheek softly. And then, I turned around and started to walk away, leaving him standing there with a confused look on his face.
It hurt me to just leave him like this, but the fact that I had caused his memory loss hurt me even more. And I didn't want to cause any more problems, so I decided to let him continue his life without me. He wouldn't miss me, since he didn't even remember me anymore.
