Sasuke didn't know what to do. He was out of tomatoes, craving onigiri and didn't get paid until the end of the mission. On top of this he had to put up with Naruto's antics and Sakura's fawning. It's not that he didn't like them, he just wished they weren't so useless. Naruto was so loud any and all enemies in a ten mile radius could hear them coming and Sakura was more interested in getting him to go out on a date with her, mission be damned.

Indeed mission be damned. He couldn't put up with this much longer. Who gives a damn if technically he was a missing nin before. Who cared that he'd gone to the enemy lines in the middle of a war. He certainly didn't. So really he couldn't see why he had to be under constant supervision. He was also questioning why he came back to leaf, and why he wasn't making any move to go back to sound. But most of all he was questioning how long it would take before he killed one of his teammates. He missed doing everything on his own.

He didn't miss Otogakure as such. He missed all the freedom that he was afforded. He missed all the power he was handed. He didn't miss the price he had to pay for it though. He didn't miss being under Orochimaru and his rule. He didn't miss Kabuto and his incessant watching. He never stopped watching Sasuke. It creeped him out and Sasuke almost categorized him under stalker fanboy until he realized, yes, Kabuto was a creepy stalker fanboy, but he was a creepy stalker fanboy to Orochimaru. Sasuke wasn't too sure which bothered him more.

Something that never ceased to bother him though; bother being the understatement of the year, was the fact that Itachi was still alive. Sasuke could summon huge snakes, burn cities and forests down easily, walk through walls, kill anyone who dared go against him…okay so the snakes he could summon weren't that big, and maybe he exaggerated when he said he could burn cities and forests down with ease, and he definitely couldn't walk through walls; he swears he could if he tried because he can do anything, except kill Itachi. Which took him to his last point, kill anyone that went against him.

It wasn't fair really. Constant supervision meant no time to brood/sulk. No time to be emo in any way, shape or form. Sasuke swore when this supervision thing was over they weren't going to see him for months. He was going to brood that long.

Sasuke supposed they were his friends. He'd missed them too. Of course it wouldn't stop him from beating the crap out of them if they mentioned it. Well, Naruto really. Sakura wouldn't mention it and he doubted Kakashi really cared all that much. Speaking of Kakashi, where the hell was he? He was going to kill him when he got back. No really he was. Leaving him here with them. Was he on drugs?

The tree was what brought him out of his mental rambling. The same tree he'd walked into. A slight blush turned into a darker shade of red when Naruto burst out laughing. He was hoping no one had seen that. Apparently he wasn't that lucky.
