It's a little dramatic and overly angsty, but I hope you guys don't mind! Please do read and review! (:

A drop of rain dripped onto his nose. He lifted his head, and noted that the sky was overcast with low grey clouds, a sure sign that it was going to rain any moment.

Uchiha Sasuke disliked the rain. No, rather, he bore a hatred for it.

Currently, he was worried about the younger of his two sons, who was out on a B-rank mission in the Grass country.

He could very well think back to some other events where things had happened when it rained.

I.

It was raining when young Sasuke had gone back to the Uchiha compound secretly, having slipped out from the hospital by himself. He wished that everything was a lie, or simply, a horrible genjutsu.

He simply could not accept the fact that his parents were dead; the entire clan was dead, leaving only him and Itachi, his brother.

Sasuke who was still wet from the rain, walked into his house, and into the dojo where his parents were murdered by the person whom he had thought as his brother, his kind, compassionate brother.

His parents' bodies had already been removed, leaving only a white outline of where their bodies had laid, and the blood soaked in the wood to remind him that it was reality.

Sasuke, who had been on the verge of tears, could not hold back anymore, and he broke down, kneeling on the tatami mat, and cried.

He was only eight.

II.

It was raining yet again, when Itachi died in front of Sasuke, who was chakra depleted and tired.

He fell onto the rubble beside his brother, feeling the rain beat onto his body, the relief washing over him as he had avenged his clan, and his brother was already dead.

The rain slowly lulled him to sleep, and he succumbed to the darkness, his last thoughts being of his now-dead brother's last words, which bothered him even after the latter's death.

He was sixteen.

III.

Yet again, it was raining, when Sakura, his wife of seven years, when he married her when they were both twenty two, was on an A-rank mission.

Sasuke had not been able to go on the mission with her, as other shinobi were already assigned as her team that would accompany her to Amegakure.

He was worried about her, as he felt uneasy about the mission.

And true to his worries that day, news came back that Sakura had died on the mission, due to an ambush on the team.

Her name was engraved onto the K.I.A memorial stone, where it would remain forever, a painful reminder to him that he had failed to protect another of his most precious loved ones yet again.

He was twenty nine, when both of his sons had lost their mother.

And now, eight years after his wife's death, it was also raining, when his youngest son was out on a mission that could be potentially dangerous, seeing that it was B-rank, and he was having the same uneasy feeling about this mission as he did on his wife's mission that time.

And then, the news came again.

His youngest son, who was only at the tender age of fifteen, was fatally injured, and his team was trying to get him back to Konoha as quickly as possible, before his last breath.

It had started to rain an hour ago, the exact time when his son was injured by the enemy ninja.

It was ironic. It always had been.

That was the reason why Uchiha Sasuke bore a hatred for the rain. Because the rain always took away his loved ones.
