A Pre-Twilight fanfic-Jasper tells all in…
"What was lost in the War"
Prologue:
It was just Jasper and Esme alone in Cullen Mansion. He was new, he was different, and he wasn't trusted. Well the red head and the curly haired dude didn't trust him at any rate, Carlisle was leery, but he meant well. The Blonde Bimbo didn't care much… except that she was threatened by the new competition. "What's wrong?" Esme asked the red eyed blonde on the sofa. "You can tell me."
"Nothing ever goes right for me Esme." He replied. 'Where the hell did that come from?' your subconscious 'who are you?' I'm your conscience; you know that little voice that tells you right from wrong… 'Great…where were you in the 1860's?!' his red eyes bore into Esme's gold.
"What do you mean? You've got us now, we can help make things better." She stated. She watched in horror as Jasper rolled up his sleeves.
"You can try…but even you can't change the past." He traced one of the silver scars that covered his arms. "Just like these scars, there are some things that don't leave you, no madder how long and hard you try to get rid of them."
"But you can make them less painful." Esme said as she traced the outline of his scars with her stone cold fingers. "Tell me why it hurts you so bad."
"It's," he began to protest…just tell her…it may help. 'Shut up.' Or what? You'll jump off a cliff? "It's just…it's a long story." He said finally caving in. "and it starts when I was ten…"
