Hi everyone! I don't own LOTR or Frodo (but if I did…ummm, maybe I should keep this rated G?). The song is "Bring on the Rain" by Jo Dee Messima. I've never written a songfic before, so I would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions! Please read and review!

…It's almost like hard times circle round…

Frodo opened his eyes slowly as something cold hit his face. He just lay there and listened as raindrops hit the ground around him, trying not to remember where he was and why. It was kind of nice there, it felt to the hobbit as if he were floating somewhere between dreams and reality, but he knew that soon he would wake and be forced to remember everything. Already memory was flooding back and he wanted to die for it. No. Not die, just sleep forever and escape.

…A couple drops and they all start coming down…

He looked over to dear Sam lying beside him. Why had he led his friend into this? Of course he knew. He knew he had been arrogant and his words at the ford echoed back, haunting him: "By Elbereth and Luthien the Fair, you shall have neither the Ring nor me." He had been wrong then; the Riders would have them all before it was over.

…I may feel defeated…

He had been wrong to break the Fellowship, as well. He missed them all. If they were with them now, Merry and Pippin would be causing mischief, Strider attempting to keep some order, Gandalf…

Frodo held back tears that flowed to his eyes and stung as they fell down his cheeks with the cold rain. It was the recurring nightmares of the wizard's fall that had woken the bearer and he wished desperately to see the protective image of Strider or the Istari himself keeping watch over the camp; anything to reassure him that none of it was real. But it was.

…I may hang my head…

Frodo sighed deep; trying to find some warmth and pulled the hood of his cloak over his face, as the rain that had been comforting chilled him.

…I might be barely breathing- but I'm not dead…
