"I watch them fight and die in the name of freedom. They speak of liberty and justice, but for who?"

Her feet were tired and caked with other debris from the cold, wet ground. Shivers bolted through her fragile body like the fast-paced river her ears perked up to. She was far from being used to this type of weather for she was suited for heat and only heat. The binds that bound her sun-kissed hands together dug deeper into her supple skin as she trudged slowly in between a group of foul smelling redcoats.

They had stormed onto her land and ripped apart everything she knew right before her honey colored eyes. They claimed. They tormented. They killed. They took prisoners. She had tried her hardest to get away. She tried so hard but luck was not on her side. Her mother had demanded she run, to hide and be somewhere safe. She couldn't bring herself to move. So she stayed right were she was. Eventually, they found them. They killed her mother and father as she was being dragged away roughly by an iron grip of an unknown source. Her screams were silent but not non-existent. The bodies of her parents lay motionless and bloodied. There was nothing she could do. Nothing. Tears ran in silent streams down her narrowed cheeks. The home she had grown to love was roaring in flames, along with all of her memories.

Now she was a prisoner. To whom, she didn't know. For what purpose, she didn't know. She was silent, sullen, almost devoid of all human emotions. Her body lurched forward as a man behind her pushed her harshly, causing her to stumble and lose her sense of balance. He yelled at her in a language she could not understand. Her eyes, that were once glued to the blinding white snow crunching beneath her bare feet, dragged themselves to the barren trees that decorated the vast land before her. There, perched on a tree limb, was a shadow. Her eyes strained to focus on the mysterious figure and soon she could make out the color of white robes, stealthily scanning his surroundings. Soon, honey met with brown in a tsunami of various emotions.

He sat and watched as the group trotted by him, yelling and laughing at a woman bound by her hands. His eyes were fixated on the passing herd of people, watching as a man pushed the woman from behind as she clumsily stumbled forward a few steps. Silence engulfed the scene blow as he listened in on the crunching of the footsteps. Her eyes floated up to his and locked in a stare that spoke a thousand words once more but this time he held her gaze a little longer. A new emotion gurgled anxiously at the pit of his stomach. He knew he had to do something. Who ever this helpless woman was did not deserve the treatment they were getting. He silently reached behind his back and pulled out his bow, grabbing an arrow from his quiver and placing it where it properly belonged. Using his strength, he pulled back and aimed for one of the men wearing a coat made with blood red material. The arrow silently cut through the gently falling snow, placing itself snuggly between the flesh and heart of his target.
