Fine

"Ash, stop!" the bluenette shouted. "I'm done with you trying to take this... take us... too far. You know what? I'm done... with you." She shoved him out the door as he wondered what the heck was going on.

"Dawn, wait!" he cried, but she had already shut the door. He could hear her crying on the other side as he began the long walk home, which now felt even longer. After less than a week of being back together, they were apart once more.

A few days later, Dawn couldn't keep herself from thinking about Ash. She had broken up with him, and she wanted him back. Oh, Ash... You're like a drug. I'm addicted to you, but I just can't have you. She decided to go apologize. "Ash, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said any of those things. Please, will you be my boyfriend again?"

"Seriously?" he said, obviously surprised. "You think that you can take it back that easily? Dawn, love doesn't work like that. We started fighting for no reason in under a week, we can't go on like this. Besides, I've got a girlfriend already. So, I'll be fine."

These words cut Dawn like a knife. She ran back home, trying not to cry. She reached her door and opened it before running to her bed and crying into her pillow. After a while, she stopped crying and just laid there, staring into space. The doorbell rang. She ignored it, unfortunately remembering what happened last time someone rang it. It rang again. She flipped over on her bed to try and ignore it. When it started ringing repeatedly, she decided to just go see who was being so annoying.

She angrily walked to the door and opened it, shouting at the visitor. "I'm in no mood to hear-" she stopped when she saw who it was, and promptly tried to shut the door, but he blocked it with one of his shoes. He pushed it back open, and pulled Dawn to him, enveloping her in a hug. "See?" he said. "I'll be fine."

Post-story
So... What did you think of Fine? The girlfriend Ash mentioned in paragraph four was, obviously, Dawn. And when he said "love doesn't work like that" he didn't mean it takes time to forgive those you love, but rather it's automatic.
