Shadow with a Purpose

Disclaimer: I don't own anything related to Red Eye!

I watch her cross the crowd,

Without a care;

Daddy's little girl.

She doesn't see me

Standing here

Right behind her.

I'm a shadow,

With a purpose.

She doesn't know

That I've followed her;

Stalked her

Every day for eight weeks.

I've been a shadow,

On the wall.

Now I come,

Come out of the darkness and into the light.

See me standing here.

She turns around;

Startled.

I smile back

As my plan unfolds;

Picture perfect.

She cries out, "Why?"

"It's a job," I tell her.

"Just a job."

We both know

There's something more.

She sees the true me

In the dark.

I slam her against the wall,

Breathe in her fear,

Slowly squeeze the life

Out of her.

She's done her job,

The call is made.

Now I finish mine.

Good-bye, sweetheart.

I'll see you in the darkness;

The darkness of my black soul.

I'm just a shadow,

Once more.

My purpose is fulfilled.

Author's Notes:

I originally wrote this for my Creative Writing class, but I ended up not using it. I didn't want it to go to waste, so here it is. I personally hate poetry so it might be crap.
